UK - Really Creative Media's VJing skills were put to the test when worked alongside lighting designer Rob Sinclair to design all the animated content for and produce the live shows on The Human League UK Tour.

The stunning stage set, designed by Sinclair, was built with video integration in mind to bring the electro beats and vibe to life through the accompanying visuals for the audience. It included three cascading arches of 12mm video screen, the largest being 48ft wide with 25ft legs down to the stage floor. These surrounded the central upstage screen which was 24ft x 8ft of 6mm.

In the smaller tour venue, this was reduced to just the central display and one arch. Our creative team of animators had to keep this in mind during the design process, to ensure that the more intimate venues had the same show experience as the larger ones.

USA - Lighting designer, Jason Bullock of Infinity Point Design Inc, brought a wealth of new Ayrton lighting fixtures to Wiz Khalifa's Under the Influence of Music Tour this year. Under the Influence of Music is an annual event which brings the biggest new names in hip-hop to venues across America.

Bullock was amongst the first to use Ayrton's MagicPanel 602 last year and has returned to it this year incorporating 48 of the units in his design. To these he has added fresh offerings from Ayrton's newly released Radical Series, employing 36 MagicBlade-R linear fixtures and 12 massive MagicRing-R9 fixtures.

Bullock, like Khalifa, is determined to expand the visual presentation of the tours using the latest technology to explore the unique design possibilities that new products present.

"After the success of the MagicPanel 602, I met with Ayrton in Europe and

Italy - Bringing a taste of Cuba to metropolitan Italy, Todos a Cuba is a new bar and restaurant located in the centre of Milan. A Yamaha Commercial Installation Solutions (CIS) delivers high quality, seamless sound to its customers.

Located close to the Colonne di San Lorenzo, Milan's noted Roman ruin, Todos a Cuba was designed by Novara-based architects Archizero. Comprising a single level, L-shaped space, the brief was to create a venue with a strong individual identity. One side of the L accommodates the bar area and the other customer tables and seating, the contrasting elements of each linked by visual devices, like the suspended ceiling of the seating area being imitated in the fascia of the bar.

A two-zone audio system was specified for background music and a feed from a Sky TV decoder for live sport. This was the ideal type of installation for Yamaha's CIS products -

Promoted locally by AMI Live and ATW Live in association with Live Nation Global Touring, artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball took place at Meydan Racecourse. Eclipse provided the lighting, video and primary and secondary power distribution, while audio was supplied by Delta Sound.

"We are immensely proud to have been selected as event technology supplier for such a landmark show, the fact that so much of the production was able to be serviced locally is a real testament to the local market's ability to compete on a global stage," said Martin Lubach, general manager of Eclipse Staging Services.

The main stage lighting featured many fixtures, including 67 Clay Paky Sharpys, 11 Clay Paky Alpha Wash 1500s and 24 Clay Paky Sharp

Denmark - Copenhagen Central Station was recently equipped with 24 SGM P-5 wash lights with the goal of making it more welcoming for its approximately 100,000 daily visitors.

The contractor on the project was Matrix Sales ApS with Urs Friis-Alstrup as the project manager responsible for budgeting, product selection and programming.

The mission was to light up the arched ceilings of the more than 100-year-old railway station which consists of two 100-metre long halls - each with more than 20 metres to the ceiling.

The halls, bearing the architecture and craftsmanship of the early 1900s, are set in dark green and red, which cause the visitor experience to be very dark and gloomy, especially during the winter months. Therefore, the challenge was to create an installation that respected and preserved the original building construction, while bringing it alive.

Mexico - Vatel Producciones, founded and managed by Miriam Villalobos is celebrating its eighth birthday with a wide range of events utilising their Robe equipment in Mexico City.

Vatel's owner Miriam Villalobos was curious to learn about the production industry, and back in 2000 took a job in public relations at local company A1 Audio, during a show by Mexican band Molotov. The company was the main one in Querétaro and serviced all the major shows in the area, allowing her to meet professionals and engineers from many other places.

She says: "Audio became my passion! After four years, I met Héctor Alvarez - currently soft rock singer Camila's engineer - and he recommended that I move to Mexico City because the market was bigger, more dynamic and interesting. He said I would never get tired of learning and also seeing new technologies which often don't reach

China - In celebration of its 35th anniversary in October, Hong Kong Ballet presented three dance showcases, titled A Celebration of Dance, in the Grand Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Lighting designer and director of C'est Bon Projects, Kwok Fai Mak, employed numerous ETC Source Four LED CYC and Selador Desire luminaires to light up this ballet trio.

The showcases included George Balanchine's masterpiece Serenade, Nacho Duato's provocative contemporary ballet Castrati and Natalia Conus' staging of Swan Lake's third act, which is based on Marius Petipa's 1895 original.

Mak sought to maintain the original lighting mood of Serenade and Castrati, with a touch of his own interpretation, and he took a new approach for Swan Lake. When he discovered that the venue's new LED cyc lights didn't fit his initial lighting proposal

Live in London - Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith have all been booked to appear at next year's Brit Awards ceremony. They are the first names to be announced for the event in February at the O2 Arena in London and broadcast on ITV. Further names will be confirmed over the next few weeks.

Spot On - Ed Sheeran has bucked the trend for criticising Spotify, saying his popularity on the site enabled him to play three nights at Wembley Stadium. "My music has been streamed 860 million times, which means that it's getting out to people," he said backstage at the BBC Music Awards. "I'm playing sold-out gigs in South America, I've sold out arenas in Korea and south-east Asia. I don't think I'd be able to do that without Spotify." His comments come after Taylor Swift and Thom Yorke pulled their music from the streaming music site.

USA - Arcade Fire, the Grammy Award-winning indie band from Montreal, has been praised by critics since the launch of its debut album, Funeral, in 2004. Ten years on, the group continues to press the envelope with its sonically adventurous arrangements and tours, which can feature a dozen or more multi-instrumentalists switching between an ever-changing blend of guitar, drums, bass, piano, string quartet, xylophone, glockenspiel, keyboard, synthesizer, French horn, accordion, harp, mandolin and hurdy-gurdy.

When the band was poised to head out on the road earlier this year in support of its fourth and most recent album, Reflektor, FOH engineer Jim Warren and tour sound reinforcement provider Solotech Inc. knew what systems would be up for the challenge: L-Acoustics' K1 and K2.

In particular, this trek represented Solotech's first official outing with the manufact

UK - Back in 2013 The Potters House Christian Fellowship decided to begin the process of upgrading its audio system in their flagship UK Church in Leyton, East London.

Housed in a large former cinema and bingo hall the existing system was struggling to accurately transfer the message from the Worship leaders to the congregation. The dynamics of the lively, high energy, resident praise band were also being held back by the existing system.

This process took Jason Campbell - sound technician at The Potters House - to the PLASA 2013 trade show where he took in information on a number of manufacturers and possible ways to enhance his Church's audio offering.

The show gave Jason his first opportunity to listen to KV2 Audio's products - most notably a full VHD System in the AudioLab. Being suitably impressed with a brand previously unknown to him, Jason visited KV2 Audio's stand a

Hungary - When the Palace of Arts, Budapest and Hungary's new cultural hub, opened in 2005, it was built to represent more than a hundred years of Hungarian cultural history. As a conglomeration of cultural venues, the building has no precedent in 20th century Hungarian architecture and claims no peers in the whole of Central Europe. The recent addition of a DiGiCo SD10 mixing console to its audio inventory is helping to ensure this exceptional status is maintained into the future.

Known to Hungarians simply as Müpa, the venue brings together the many and varied disciplines of the arts in a unique fashion by providing a home for classical, contemporary, popular and world music, not to mention jazz and opera, as well as contemporary circus, dance, literature and film.

The institution states that its "fundamental task is to introduce new artistic trends and directions - wh

The Netherlands - International superstar, Dutch DJ and music producer Armin van Buuren played two spectacular sold out shows at Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome as the culmination of his year-long Armin Only Intense world tour. Central to the show were 174 Robe moving lights, part of the lighting specification for a design created by Marc Heinz, who was asked on-board by the show's creative director Jos Thie to bring a theatrical slant to the look and feel of the lighting.

He worked closely with The Art of Light, designers and specialists in the world of EDM lighting, who have been involved from Armin's very first live show. The results were a truly immersive visual and sonic experience as Armin unfolded his five-hour set - including an hour of warm-up from inside a giant inflatable ball. While absolutely centre stage, Armin was joined onstage by numerous guests including vocalists, musi

UK - Working with production manager Sarah Chaloner and designer Jonathan Paul Green, XL Video supplied a projection system for studio recordings of 'Series L' of the popular QI Ltd/TalkBack Television show, QI.

Originally created by John Lloyd, QI is a comedy quiz show hosted by Stephen Fry, featuring regular panellist Alan Davies, which is broadcast on BBC2 in the UK. The set includes two projection screens that are key to the quiz show, displaying clues and visual alerts throughout the game.

For the projection, XL Video project manager Jeff Bailey specified two of XL's Barco SLM R12+ projectors, each of which fed to a 13ft x 7.5ft screen. Bailey chose the R12+ projectors for their three-chip DLP colours and bright 12,000 lumen light output. XL supplied Repro H screens, selected as they minimize the hot spot that the camera sees in the projected picture - parti

UK - The BBC Children in Need annual marathon TV spectacular is vigorously supported each year by local outside broadcasts spanning the breadth of the British Isles. This year, wanting to stand out with extra pizzazz, BBC Bristol appointed TV lighting director, Paul Middleton, to bring the 'wow factor' to the outside broadcast from the West Country's Wookey Hole Circus School, near Wells. Middleton's first thought was Chauvet and turned to the manufacturer for assistance with the high profile fundraising event.

Middleton bolstered the in-house lighting rig with 10 Chauvet Professional Q-Wash 419Z-LED fixtures, seven Chauvet Professional Next NXT-1 moving head LED panels, complete with 25 pixel-mappable quad-colour RGBW LEDs, and six of the feature-packed Chauvet Professional Rogue R1 Beam units.
