USA - GDS is exhibiting alongside its US distributor ACT at this year's LDI show in Las Vegas. It will showcase a host of new and existing products and will introduce CueSystemNet and SM Console to the US market.

The Las Vegas show will see GDS introduce CueSystem NET a networked cue light system which launched at ProLight + Sound earlier in the year. The CueSystem NET allows for complete flexibility within stage management environments, says the company.

GDS will also introduce its SM Console, a bespoke stage manager's console for the international theatre and event industry. Since launching the product in 2006, GDS has designed and manufactured numerous bespoke SM Consoles for prestigious venues around the world including, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, LAMDA, Hong Kong Performing Arts Centre, Theatre Chatelet Paris and many more.

USA/Italy - Clay Paky has reported its most successful LDI in 23 years of exhibiting at the international showtech event . The show also confirmed Clay Paky's reputation for innovation with a win for its latest beam light Sharpy in the category Best Debuting Product.

The Sharpy, just one of several new products launched in the US, impressed both judges and visitors with its parallel, zero-degree beam of light. The breakthrough concept produces a massive, stadium-sized beam from a miniature package weighing just 16kg.

There was a festival feel across Madrid, with MTV hosting a number of events during the week. This culminated in the Outdoor Broadcast Show at the Puerto de Alcala, where a mammoth stage was built in front of the landmark, in the middle of a roundabout. A complex security plan was agreed with the National and Municipal police, whereby a series of road closures and pedestrian control points created an audience area of up to 50,000 people. Saturday 6 November was MTV Spain day with a line-up of top Spanish pop acts, whilst the Sunday delivered a visually spectacular event featuring Katy Perry, 30 Seconds to Mars and Linkin Park.

UK - David Atkinson Lighting Design (DALD) recently completed the lighting design for Diaghilev and the Golden Age of the Ballets Russes exhibition at the V&A, London.

This major exhibition explores the world of the influential artistic director and impresario Serge Diaghilev and one of the most exciting dance company of the 20th century, the Ballets Russes. The exhibition features 300 objects including original costumes, set designs, scores, props, posters and film clips and celebrates Diaghilev's enduring influence on art and design.

Exhibition designers Tim Hatley and Drinkall Dean briefed DALD that the lighting was to create a sensitive yet dynamic theatrical approach to the exhibition.

Christie was awarded in the Innovative Solution category for Christie MicroTiles, and in the Best Projector category for Christie Mirage WU7K-M. The Total Media awards were created to recognise the most outstanding and innovative technological products in the digital signage industry.

USA - NAMM has announced the education session schedule for this year's Hands-On Training (H.O.T) Zone at the 2011 NAMM Show, offering the broadest educational experience for professionals in the recording, live sound, DJ, house of worship, commercial systems integrators, and stage and lighting industries in the history of the show.

Zone will offer attendees free one-hour classes on more than 75 educational topics over four days, including topics such as Introduction to Live Mixing New Techniques for DJs, Lead Worshipers Arise The Future of Music, and Pro Tools 101".
