Germany - Laserworld has updated its Purelight Series so they come in a smaller housing, are lighter and built with enhanced laser sources. The company promises "great white balance and high power at low price". The Purelight Series units are available in 6W, 10W and 20W power and have graphics-capable scanners at 30kpps 8° ILDA, which makes them suitable for a large number laser show applications. The optics section of the laser systems has no air circulation, which significantly reduces maintenance efforts for the Purelight systems. The Laserworld Purelight Series, launched at PL+S 2018, are suitable for large nightclubs, festivals, outdoor stages and any kind of application that requires high power and good white balance, says the company. Denmark - When the original 2290 Digital Delay hit the music world in 1985, it was lauded as nothing short of a revolution in sound. Adopted by producers and FOH engineers as well as musicians such as David Gilmour, The Edge and Robben Ford, it set the benchmark for delay units, and quickly became an industry standard in professional studios and live effects rigs. Due to its popularity, it had one of the longest production runs of any rack-mounted processor, and since its discontinuation has in 2005 become highly sought after on the vintage market. The new TC2290-DT aims to take up the sonic mantle of the original 2290 while radically reinventing the delay unit for a new generation of musicians, producers and engineers, says the company. “Because we still have the original blueprints, we’ve been able to rework the 2290 from the ground up,” says Thomas

Europe/USA - The new Philips VL2600 range of LED moving head luminaires from Philips Entertainment Lighting has been designed as a smaller, brighter and lighter LED alternative to the VL2500 Spot and Wash moving heads. The VL2600 range combines LED light source engineering with the quality, colour palette and performance of the Philips Vari-Lite brand. In terms of light quality, output power, reliability and cost, the three fixtures in the VL2600 range are simply the highest performing luminaires - and the most attractive investment proposition - in their class, says the company. Having listened to the wishes of customers worldwide, Philips Entertainment Lighting has exceeded the output of the VL2500, while expanding the available package and its potential applications with the addition of a dedicated Profile fixture, plus the added advantage of a beam-shaping system w
Germany - PR Lighting presented one of its most expansive displays yet at this month’s Prolight+Sound in Frankfurt. With a dedicated booth adjacent to their German distributor, Focon Showtechnic, their theme was Water Proof Products in the form of a series of IP65-rated fixtures. Although they found the attendance generally lower than previous years, according to international sales director, Ernie Armas, due to their inspired and eye-catching water display units, they managed to drive a constant flow of traffic to their stand. “This allowed attendees to see a series of moving heads perform over the duration of the show under water conditions,” he notes. “Furthermore, the design of our booth allowed visitors to play with our units and get full hands-on experience, by using a simple controller attached to the pedestal.” PR Lighting displayed
UK - Global Truss has developed the truss Silencer, a rubber damper that is simply pushed on to the end of a truss pin to reduce noise when assembling truss structures. The Silencer will decrease the volume when hammering truss pins by around 50% whilst dampening the high pitch frequencies significantly, says the company. A special rubber blend is being used in production which makes the Silencer flexible yet hard enough to transfer the force of the hammer effectively, and whilst preserving the material of the pin and the copper hammer. The Silencer has been designed to be left on the truss pins, whilst fitted to the truss, providing protection not only to the truss but also the surface it is sitting upon. Another added feature is that it offers camouflage when silver pins are used on black truss. “Audio measurements were conducted by audio specialists under r
Europe - With the festival season fast approaching, Optocore chose the recent Frankfurt Prolight+Sound expo to launch its new Festival Box, which celebrated its world premiere with a well-attended press launch. Having already proven the versatile fibre-based technology in the broadcast industry - marketed through its close technology partner BroaMan - Optocore has responded rapidly to the growing demand from the live sound community for a more elegant and efficient signal transport system. The Festival Box is based on the BroaMan Repeat48WDM media converter, which uses Repeat48-2Fiber modules at its source. This provides several specific models with different conversion options. The standard SFP modules allow any protocol to tunnel over the same fibre. Explaining the design rationale to the assembled press, Optocore applications engineering manager, Maciek Janis

Germany - inoage has returned to Prolight + Sound with the successful range of MADRIX hardware and software products for powerful yet simple LED control. ORION is the next MADRIX hardware interface made in Germany. As a general-purpose input device, it enables interactive projects with ease. Eight versatile inputs receive any 0V - 12V analogue input signal in order to connect to a wide range of compatible sensors, potentiometers, switches, and triggers. Sensors for light, temperature, passive infrared, and more can easily be integrated into your next interactive project just like the many well-known systems for building and home automation. Each input can be separately set as Analogue-IN, Digital-IN, Counter, and other useful functions in the web configuration page. Data is then send over network with Art-Net or Streaming ACN (E1.31). The device also features tw
Denmark - Neets will be introducing four additional front cover colours for the Neets Sound Bar. From its release, the Neets Sound Bar has been available in classic black. However, as the product has become increasingly more popular, Neets has experienced a sharp increase in customer demand for front covers in different colours. “Many of our customers consider more than projectors, whiteboards, and chairs when they design their meeting rooms. They want a meeting room that is not only functional but also communicates the company culture. And sometimes adding a splash of color can change the entire atmosphere of a meeting room,” says Neets product designer Niels Sylvester Rasmussen. “So, we answered our customers’ request for different colour front covers and have made the cover available in the most wanted colours.” In addition to the option of a black f
Germany - Clair Brothers has introduced the 10SPOT – designed as an “ultimate hybrid loudspeaker” that combines Clair Brothers Curved Array Technology together with their One Series coaxial horn technology. The result is a unique form factor loudspeaker that occupies little visual space while covering listening areas more coherently than your average conventional point sources. With a frequency response of 90Hz – 20,000Hz it is offered as a solution for when articulate speech and music reproduction is key. Because of its form factor, dispersion characteristics, and its four integral mounting points, the 10SPOT is well-suited for installation near ceiling to wall intersections in a variety of applications – hotel/club bar areas, performing arts centers, houses of worship, arenas and auditoriums, nightclubs, cruise ship venues and A/V systems support.
