UK - Production company, Nub Sound recently carried an Allen & Heath dLive digital mixing system on the UK tour of British singer songwriter, Jamie Lawson, to manage FOH sound.

Last year, Lawson was signed by Ed Sheeran's new record label, Gingerbread Man Records. The tour coincided with the release of Jamie's second UK single release from his self-titled No. 1 album. Nub Sound managed audio production for the tour, selecting the smallest dLive system, the S3000 Control Surface and DM32 MixRack.

Nigeria - Over 500,000 people attended Africa's largest concert - The Experience - a mega concert at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos, Nigeria. The Experience is an interdenominational gospel concert and word-based gathering organized in Nigeria by The House On The Rock, a vibrant, multi-ethnic church.

The organizers chose an Outline audio system to ensure that the spoken word and inspired music by the numerous artists such Don Moen, Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond, Micah Stampley, Kim Burrell, Hezekiah Walker, Jessica Reedy and Sonnie Badu, were heard loud and clear by the huge crowd.

Cytech World Communication was called in for the third consecutive year to handle sound production for the huge event that featured 11 hours of non-stop prayer and live music.

The show is set in 500,000sq.m of dense Australian jungle. UK - Lighting designer Olly Suckling presented a novel solution and lighting effect using 28 of Robe's CycFX 8 LED battens to create a giant illuminated M-A-X-I-M-O sign upstage on UK alt rockers Maximo Park's most recent tour. This celebrated 10 years since the release of their seminal debut studio album, A Certain Trigger in 2005, which was also nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.

This high impact visual effect was part of Olly's first design for Maximo Park, for which he toured a neat and flexible floor package comprising 59 fixtures, 46 of which were Robe, all supplied by rental company R & M Productions from Stokesley, North Yorkshire.

The Maximo letters utilised six CycFX 8s for the two Ms and the O, four for the A and the X and two for the L, all of which were outrigged from aluminium pipes standing in heavy-duty tank trap bases.

UK / The Netherlands - Martin Audio took full advantage of this year's inaugural four-day ISE Show in Amsterdam, announcing the new weatherised CDD-WR installation series and showcasing the products in a live demonstration.

The combination proved successful as they unveiled these weatherised variants of its multi-award winning and highly successful CDD range at a packed press gathering. Australia - TDC - Technical Direction Company, has announced the completion of its first full, multi-purpose mobile outside broadcast vehicle that offers full HD broadcast and production facilities.

"For the past 35 years we have been a pioneer in entertainment technology solutions and we know what works for live audiences, on stage as well as on camera. We have integrated camera systems into projects for many years so it was a natural progression to extend our existing flypack solutions to the new HD01 outside broadcast vehicle," says Michael Hassett, CEO at TDC.

In collaboration with TDC, the teams from Sony Professional Solutions Asia Pacific, Imagine Communications, Riedel, Fujinon, Miller, and Yamaha have assisted to produce TDC HD01, a fully customised rigid facility that has a focus on functionality and comfort.

Italy - One hundred and fifty DTS moving heads - Evo, Raptor and Nick NRG 1201 - were utilised for five evenings the leading Italian song contest, the Sanremo Festival, which was attended by major international artists such as Sir Elton John, Ellie Goulding and Maitre Gims.

The Festival, broadcast live on Eurovision, was held in the historic Teatro Ariston 9 to 13 February.

The artistic director and conductor of the Festival has repeatedly praised the eye-catching lighting of the event.

Mexico - As part of a five-day state visit, Pope Francis arrived in the famous Zocalo square in Mexico City, where a huge stage, surrounded by Nexo STM PA clusters, was prepared in front of the Palacio Nacional and a crowd of 40,000.

This was his first visit to Mexico, the most Catholic country in the Spanish-speaking world. At this ceremony, the head of Mexico City's federal government presented the Pontiff with the keys to the city. As he did a walkabout through the Zocalo, greeting the faithful, the Cathedral bells sounded out and orchestras played Mexican music on stage.

USA - Bandit Lites once again worked with three-time ACM nominee Thomas Rhett, providing the lighting package for the We Were Here Tour 2016 with Jason Aldean.

Collaborating with both Thomas Rhett and tour manager Logan Kornegay, lighting designer Nick Whitehouse built upon their general concept to create the final lighting design.

"Thomas Rhett has some really great ideas and has a fantastic team around him; it really was a pleasure to work with them all and get this together," said Whitehouse.

What may look like a standard rolling floor package reveals itself to be compact custom video and lighting lifts that extend to a full height of nearly 30ft above the stage. Whitehouse specifically chose lightweight fixtures that could be hidden within the lifts while still providing powerhouse beams and spot looks.
