During InfoComm's Rental & Staging Forum and Reception, Lighting&Sound America (L&SA) presented the Staged Events Awards.

Norway - Rental company, Sceneservice AS, has purchased a second Allen & Heath iLive digital mixing system to add to its hire stock inventory.

Based in central Norway, the company originally invested in an iLive system, comprising an iDR10 MixRack and iLive-144 Control Surface, in 2008, employing it for various tours, events and festivals on its roster. In autumn it managed FOH duties on the main stage at the Blues in Hell Festival in Stjørdal, which included headline performances from Walter Trout and Marcia Ball. More recently, it managed FOH at the Nidaros Blues Festival in Trondheim, which featured headline act, Little Feat.

UK - Christie announced the launch of the Christie Mirage WU Series at Japan's Industry Virtual Reality Expo (IVR). The series is an expansion to Christie's Mirage Series of 3-Chip DLP, 3-D Active Stereo projectors. The four new projectors, the Mirage WU3, Mirage WU7, Mirage WU12 and Mirage WU18 offer more pixels, with WUXGA 1920 x 1200 native resolution and brightness options of 3,000, 6,600, 12,000 and 18,000 ANSI lumens.

Denmark - Martin Professional has strengthened its customer care department with three new hires: Adela Güven, Marianne Kirk and Pernille Rosenkilde.

USA - Energy-efficient T8/bi-pin LED lighting tubes are the latest fluorescent-replacement LED lighting products in LEDtronics' green-technology lineup. The series LED48T8-288-001W bi-pin LED fits into standard G13 bases and is designed to directly replace conventional T8 fluorescent tubes that provide general lighting for commercial, residential and architectural lighting applications. Argentina - Earlier this year, as part of the Rocket Man tour which began in 2007 Elton John returned to Argentina for a concert at the Boca Juniors Club Stadium, 16 years after his last show in the country. The show also featured James Blunt.

The sound reinforcement for the show was provided by Buenos Aires Live Show (BALS), who chose to use the Proel EDGE system, for the stage monitors.

The two artists - backed by a group of international musicians - performed various styles from pop, to folk, to acoustic rock to a crowd of over 25,000 spectators.

In total, the stage monitor system used by BALS for the event featured 16 x Proel EDGE15CXPB bi-amplifiable coaxial floor monitors powered by six Powersoft Q4002 amplifiers.
