A musical retelling of the classic fable, the show features a score from Olivier Award-winning composers Stiles and Drewe. Germany – One of the leading rental suppliers in Germany, btl next GmbH, has recently chosen to modernise its dimming inventory with 40 modules of GEN VI dimming from Australian manufacturer, LSC Control Systems. The Düsseldorf-based company made this major investment through LSC’s exclusive distributor for Germany, LMP Lichttechnik.
Julian Siewertsen, head of btl next’s lighting department, says: “Due to the huge changes in the requirements for dimmers and current distribution, it was clear to us that we had to replace our old system - which technically still dims using the simple phase control and can therefore not replace a real fixed current distribution - with a more universally applicable product.”
As well as its dimming function, GEN VI can also be used as a full-featured power distributor. Each channel can be configured separately as a (real) relay

Italy - A2A organised an event to celebrate Bergamo Brescia, Italian Capital of Culture 2023. Light is Life was born with a double awareness: the first was an environmental purpose, aiming to involve the territory's productive energies and use renewable sources; the second had a social aspect, through its support for Banco dell'Energia, a foundation of philanthropic organisations with the objective of helping people in difficulty by carrying out projects linked to the fight against energy poverty.
The festival, powered by renewable energy sources and installations designed according to energy efficiency criteria, took place in various symbolic locations in the city which took on the role of open-air art galleries. The heart of the event was the castle of Brescia, a fortification of medieval origin, erected on the Cidneo Hill, in which no less than 15 lighting installations w

Mexico - Luke Stratton didn’t have to read between the lines when he saw the creative brief for The Smashing Pumpkins’ The World Is A Vampire festival, which took place in early March. He knew that the stage was going to be massive.
“When I got the stage dimensions from the promoter and the lighting inventory list, I knew we were going big,” said Stratton. “Our trim wound up being about 60ft to the steel and the stage itself was about 90 by 70ft, so yes, it was quite large.”
As the lighting designer and director for the multi-Grammy-winning band, Stratton, is accustomed to turning massive stages into tight, cohesive panoramas that reflect his client’s powerful, edgy music.
“In the past with the Pumpkins we’ve used tall vertical trust towers with a graphic overhead rig, so I wanted to build on that for this show,” said Stratton. “This being p
