USA - Journey and the Steve Miller Band are touring North America this summer with the Meyer Sound Leo family of products, including the compact Lyon linear line array loudspeakers launched this year. The equipment choice for the 40-city tour was driven in large part by Journey's FOH engineer Jim Yakabuski, a former mixer for Avril Lavigne, Van Halen, and Matchbox Twenty. Tower of Power opens the show.

Yakabuski is especially impressed with the linear reproduction of the Meyer Sound system. "With Leo, I find that music-in translates to music-out," he explains. "The tonality I heard from studio monitors during rehearsals is what I heard when I cranked up the full Leo system. What I find with other systems is a 'colouring' of the sound. You often have to adjust your system EQ or even your mixing style to compensate for the tonal quirks of the PA."

USA - Space Shuttle Enterprise was the first reusable spacecraft ever built in the United States, and the extensive prototyping and experiments that it underwent led directly to the construction of space shuttle Columbia and the rest of NASA's fleet. After the retirement of the space shuttle programme, NASA awarded Space Shuttle Enterprise to Manhattan's Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, where it was installed after a much-publicised NYC flyby and Hudson River barge ride.

Leo Garrison, senior integration specialist at Metro Sound Pros, designed and installed a flexible sound reinforcement system for the museum's purpose-built Space Shuttle Pavilion using the cost-effective Symetrix Jupiter 8 DSP with smartphone-based control provided by Symetrix ARC-WEB. Unfortunately, Hurricane Sandy badly damaged the pavilion a few short months after it had opened to the public, but the Intrep

Art-Festival wanted the best light to accentuate the work of the Russian and international fashion designers. "We looked at all leading international fashion shows for direction," says Armin Kloss, ETC's regional sales manager for Eastern Europe. "After extensively testing modern professional lighting sources, we opted for a classic solution. Our tungsten Source Four fixtures delivered great results during the tests, while LED fixtures from other manufacturers weren't bright enough and not up to the level of the conventional Source Fours."

Due to the large number of fixtures clustered close together on the lighting rigs, Art-Festival wanted a flexible solution th

Belgium - Tomorrowland is a renowned electronic music festival held in Belgium and this year's event, which took place in the town of Boom, marked its tenth anniversary. Now recognised as one of the most notable global music festivals, Tomorrowland was held over two weekends in July, with MTV promising a two hour long feature and a documentary surrounding the event's anniversary.

Therefore, with the eyes of millions around the world watching, it was vital that the event's organisers, the Creative Factory, pulled off a festival to remember that was technically seamless both on- and back-stage. Getting in touch with Luc Buytaert at AVL Lighting, an order was placed for 10 ELC Buddy nodes.

Luc said, "Patrick Bellens and David Smeets at the Creative Factory were keen to have one interface connected to each console on the DMX output at the festival. This way they would be guar

This peculiar and peaceful battle of the flowers is a war in which participants throw more than one million clavellones (a type of flower) that form a huge and colourful carpet of flowers through the streets of Valencia that are part of the itinerary.

This year, the overall production of the battle of the flowers relied on 16 Work Pro speakers WPL 5A which were installed from the bridge of the flowers of Valencia to the roundabout General Elio, located next to Viveros Garden.

Additionally, among the material used for this event, there were two professional lifting towers by Work Lifters, in particular the LW 461 R

UK - This is an ex-Python. Bereft of life, it rests in peace, following the final sell-out Monty Python stage shows at the O2, which brought down the giant comedy foot with a resounding raspberry for the very last time on Sunday 20 July.

Behind the scenes, the last-ever theatrical presentation of the Python team's sketchbook was a high-tech affair, making extensive use of Shure wireless microphone and in-ear monitoring technology to ensure that every llama, lumberjack, albatross, crunchy frog, and mention of spam and excrementally runny camembert could be heard clearly - particularly on the final night, which was broadcast live internationally.

Responsibility for this not-inconsiderable task fell to the show's appointed sound designer, Rory Madden of live production and audio equipment hire company Sonalyst, who has most recently looked after the hit 2013 hit West End musical

"With our V-Platform MIRA, we are already able to stream audio and video simultaneously over our 1Gbit Xavnet protocol with extremely low latency using our own codec, so the adoption process to the AVB standard should not take too long." says Romano M Cunsolo,

White Light's Jonathan Haynes worked with Adlib's Dave Platt to discuss Adlib's requirements and ensure that they could try out the fixtures before a decision was made. "We were looking for new technology that would look good and give us flexibility for our events," said Platt. "After seeing the ColourPoints in action, we placed an order with White Light."

Haynes explains the product's popularity, "Especially for event professional

South Africa - The first recorded pioneers to settle in Nelspruit - around 25 kilometers of the Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga - were the three Nel brothers. It is documented that they migrated to this tropical climate with their livestock in the cold winter months around the 1860s, and during those drawn-out travels became friends with the king of Swaziland.

Today in Nelspruit, Kyle Nel of AVS, coincidently with the same name as the Nel brothers, is making his own mark, using modern technology in a city where the main industry is forestry, citrus and tropical farming and of course the tourist attraction of the game reserve. He recently took ownership of two Robe Pointes and Prolyte Dex and Trussing, purchased from DWR Distribution.

"I've always had a keen interest in sound and music, and while I have no musical talent whatsoever, I have a natural ability with anythin
