Visitors to the stand will get an in-person view of the new Altman Spectra Cyc 200, the buzz-worthy LED cyclorama fixture launched earlier this year. The Spectra Cyc 200 uses a patented LED lens to blend colours, which reduces pixilation from direct view. Burke - who has designed lighting for many of the world's biggest stars including Seal, Miley Cyrus, The Cranberries - has created an energetic and dramatic design using a battery of VL3500 Wash FX and VL3000 Spot luminaires supplied by US Vari-Lite dealer Upstaging.

"The lighting workhorses for this show are definitely the wash lights," says Burke. "I've been using the VL3500 Wash fixtures for a while now and I really like them. They're extremely flexible fixtures and do something that no other lights on the market can do."

The spectacular sequenced light show will be visible for around three miles from the new build scheme and accompanied by an audio soundtrack to create visual entertainment from 5pm each night until 20 December.

The patterns and colours will be generated from the base of two tower cranes and projected upwards vertically as far as 39 metres. A seasonal goodwill message will be projected onto the gable end of the existing Kent building.

The initiative was dreamed up by BAM Construction who are re-developing the massive £35m Great Horton Road campus for the College, together with West Yorkshire based Entertainment Technical Specialists; Stage Management Company.

The Trust's offices are now benefitting from the improved light and significant energy savings generated by 500 standard and 80 emergency light fittings supplied by Dartford-based 8point3 LED.

The company, which manufactures its fittings at its own factory in Belvedere, Kent, won the contract after supplying the Trust with a competitive and aesthetically pleasing LED package.

Paul Jenkins, capital programme manager at the Trust, said, "We welcomed tenders from a number of LED companies but 8point3's proved to be the best. We're really pleased with how the lights look, like normal four-tube fluorescent units, as opposed to the solid white blocks offered by other firms.

There were four positions available on the European Regional Board. Martin Hawthorn of Hawthorn's was re-elected to a second term as Treasurer and Mark Surtees of Outback Rigging successfully retained his position as Production Services Representative. Noreen O'Riordan of Entec Sound and Light becomes the new Rental Company Representative, while Steve Macluskie of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland will take on a second term as the Organizational Representative.

This design has been re-created for Gabriel on his 2012 Back To Front tour which is a nostalgic celebration of Gabriel's 1986 'So LP interspersed with works from his illustrious 35-year solo career.

Accompanying Gabriel on this Stateside tour has been UK LD Rob Sinclair.

Sinclair first worked with Peter Gabriel in 2009 and again for his New Blood show in 2010. He was approached to join Gabriel in America this year, for the tour that will hopefully be seen in Europe in a year or so.

For the temporary installation, Patrick Woodroffe, lighting designer for The Stones since 1989, collaborated with James Glancy Design to transform London's historical shopping and music district for the season. They turned to entertainment lighting specialist White Light to supply lighting solutions for the holiday installation.

Hundreds of shoppers and music fans gathered for the celebration, taking in Rolling Stones themed decorations, highlighted by the colourful sparkle of lighting from every angle.

One of the park's newest attractions is the Liseberg Wheel, a classic Ferris wheel ride that gives visitors a majestic look over the park and city as the newest feature in the Gothenburg night time sky. Having opted for Chauvet Professional SparkliteLED Drape backdrop drapes for the show's first season, lighting designer David Ayala specified more than 70 fixtures for the current one, including the drapes that he uses as base for his design. Musique Xpress of Puerto Rico provided the luminaires.

Nick Whitehouse, the lighting designer for the main stage, was tasked with creating a rig "that pleased everyone and looked different for the two headline acts. It had to be efficient to meet both Jay-Z's and Pearl Jam's wishes for their shows and incorporate the needs of the other performers.
