Cadac Holdings announced a number of strategic initiatives at this year's Prolight+Sound exhibition, with major significance for its on-going business development. The company announced the appointment of Vincenzo Borrelli to the newly created position of sales development manager. Borrelli has previously worked for companies as diverse as Harman, Mackie, Sound Technology and, most recently Stage Electrics.

UK - Star Events Group announces that its Design and Engineering department has recently taken on three new staff following substantial increases to the company's workload and turnover.

The three new staff are: Tony Benabu (senior design engineer, Aaron Enos (design engineer) and Anthony Reeves (CAD technician).

Steve Horton (Design Division manager) will move to a consulting role at the end of August, focussing primarily on new product development and Mark Constant retains his position as design office manager.

"This enhanced staffing level will enable us to get our engineers on site more frequently thus building closer relationships with the crews that build our structures, leading to a heightened awareness on both sides of the levels of safety and efficiency the company requires," says Constant.

Curtis Lewis is now in the American DJ UK team as area sales manager for the Southern region. Curtis brings a solid experience from all DJ environments. Not only that he has worked himself for many years as a DJ, he was a retailer of DJ equipment, and most recently worked as a sales manager in the industry.

Button joins PRG with 18 years experience in lighting and AV production across corporate, exhibition, touring music, television and theatre with clients including O2, Deloitte and General Motors, and tours such as Primal Scream, The Chemical Brothers and Jay-Z.

In addition to design, Button is an experienced and accomplished operator of lighting desks and media servers, as well as having extensive knowledge of video & lasers.

USA - DPA Microphones CEO and shareholder Christian Poulsen has assumed day-to-day management of DPA Inc, the Danish manufacturer's US subsidiary, with immediate effect.

Poulsen, who was appointed CEO in October after four years on the DPA board of directors, is a graduate of the Danish Engineering Academy and founder of digital camera and scanner company Imacon. The fastest growing industrial company in Denmark in 1999 and 2000, Imacon merged with Hasselblad in 2004 to transform the Swedish photography giant from high-end film camera company to a fully digital camera operation.

UK - Helen Ward has rejoined Saville Audio Visual as North West area sales manager for conference and live events operations.

Ward joined the sales team at the company's Leeds office in 1987 and later transferred to the Saville Manchester centre and progressed to hire manager before leaving in 2004 for a spell outside the company.

She has returned to take up a newly created role as part of the company's drive to strengthen its national profile and comments, "I'm delighted to be back and looking forward to renewing acquaintances and making new ones. UK - Saville Audio Visual has announced the appointment of Paul Riddell as North East operations supervisor at the Saville Gateshead conference production centre.

Durham-born Riddell has worked in the live events sector of the audio visual industry for 16years, starting as an AV technician at British Airways' conference centre and later working with WH Smith, the Currys/Dixons rebrand roadshow and with NCJ Media.

USA - Jamey Calloway has been named as Liberty's new product manager. An industry veteran who has over 25 years' of technical and management experience, Calloway will be developing and implementing overall new product strategies for the company on a worldwide basis.

Calloway comes to the post from the Greensboro, North Carolina offices of Tyco Electronics, where he served as that company's product manager.

To date, as sales director pro audio export, Klaus Seitz has been responsible for the pro sound sector (Electro-Voice, Dynacord) in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), whilst Kamil Swobodzinski has been responsible for the marketing of broadcast and intercom equipment (RTS, Telex) in the same three regions. Henceforth, responsibility for both the brands and the sales regions will be differently assigned between the two. The duties of the existing export sales managers, however, will remain unchanged.

USA - Audio-Technica has announced the appointment of Michael Edwards to the position of vice-president professional markets. The announcement was made by Audio-Technica US president and CEO Philip Cajka.

Following the start of his audio career as a successful recording engineer, Edwards joined Audio-Technica in 1994, and has served the company since then in a variety of key roles in sales, marketing, and most recently as director of product management. He is a member of the Audio-Technica Taiwan board of directors.

As leader of the company's professional division, Edwards will have considerable responsibility for the way Audio-Technica develops and positions its professional products. New Zealand - Philips Selecon head Jeremy Collins has announced he will be leaving Philips Selecon at the end of June.

Collins, who bought the company in 1985 (with colleague Andrew Nichols) and has been instrumental in building the Selecon brand over the past quarter of a century, says he is moving on "to a new stage' in his life".

Since Philips acquired Selecon in April 2009, Collins has been a driving force in ensuring a smooth transition and further development of the Philips Selecon products.

Germany - Jörg Heise has joined Riedel Communications as its new chief operations officer (COO). Heise began his duties at the communications, audio and video network specialist in May, 2011 in Wuppertal.

UK - L-Acoustics has appointed Chris Vass to the position of UK technical support manager, working alongside UK sales manager Stuart Down. Both will be at ABTT in London on 15 and 16 June on the HD Pro Audio stand.

Vass comes from a background of large scale corporate, rock and roll and theatre events, and has used L-Acoustics products for a number of years. "I feel there is really nothing better on the market," he says. UK - International lighting design consultants Light Bureau have announced the departure of design director, Paul Nulty. After 11 years with the practice he has left the company. Nulty's ambition to set up and run his own practice, Paul Nulty Lighting Design, is the reason behind his departure, says the company.

Light Bureau Principal, Paul Traynor said: "It has been a pleasure working with Paul and I sincerely wish him every success with his new company. Paul's commitment to the practice over the years has stood Light Bureau in good stead for the future and we look forward to future collaborations with him."
