Germany - When Meyer Sound returns to ProLight&Sound this March, a new self-powered loudspeaker will be unveiled with features that will attract installation, corporate AV, and theatre professionals, says the company. The COLORado 1 Tour is designed for touring professionals, features RGBW colour mixing from 42 1W LEDs. Colour temperature presets range from 3,200 K to 10,000 K. It responds to three, four, five, six or 11 channels of DMX control. Five distinct dimming curves provide smooth dimming to closely match conventional sources. PowerCon connectors as well as direct DMX in and out provide faster and easier connections.

The COLORado 2 Tour, also directed at touring professionals, boasts more and higher powered LEDs (48 2W and 3-watt RGBW LEDs with 15° or optional 30° lenses) than the COLORado 1 Tour, while offering the same improved dimming capability.

USA - Zinman Software has announced the release of PocketLD v2.0 which allows lighting professionals in theatre, film and TV to calculate the FC/LUX and beam/field Diameters for over 2000 fixtures and lamps.

V2.0 adds the functionality for users to edit the existing library, create their own fixtures and organize these fixtures into an improved Favorites List. New fixtures included in the library include Dedolight, K5600 and Kobold.

Developer Michael Zinman says: "This is our most ambitious update for PocketLD since it was released two years ago. I'm so happy with these changes and I'm confident our world-wide user base will find the new functions a great add."

Germany - At Frankfurt this year, Trantec's focus will be on the Channel 38 ready, S6 wireless system which builds on the success of the S6000 range, taking the 19", 8-way concept to a higher level. Trantec has now incorporated a comprehensive user interface on the front panel allowing the user to configure and monitor all channels, with or without an external PC. The internal circuitry of the S6 beltpack and handheld transmitter has been redesigned and upgraded, extending the frequency capability to a massive 80MHz.

Trantec will also be exhibiting S-D7000 - the world's first professional fully digital wireless microphone system that is already in use at GMTV for their presenters and guests. Features include 24 bit audio resolution, network monitoring for over 60 channels, and users can now benefit from over 20 user channels in an 8MHz TV band.

USA - Synthe FX has released Luminair 2.0, the next generation of the wireless multi-touch DMX control app for iPhone and iPod touch. Luminair is a wireless lighting control software, which uses the Art-Net protocol to control compatible lighting equipment and media servers.

Among the new features in v2.0 is 'Stacks', which is a cue-list playback system designed to make it very easy to put together shows for a wide variety of uses. Cues can be programmed directly within Luminair, and also recorded as snapshots from an external console or any other DMX control source. Standard playback life using the device's internal battery can run up to 3.5 hours, and can be extended to over 36 hours using a 3rd-party external battery pack.

The Netherlands - Visual Productions reports that it is one of the first software lighting control manufactures to overcome the incompatibilities of working with 64 bit Windows 7. Cuelux software lighting control is now more than ever proving to be a platform independent system that can be used on Windows and Mac operating systems, says the company.

Visual Productions has made a Cuelux driver for all 64 bit versions of the Windows operating systems, XP, Vista and the new Windows 7.

Among them will be the Bliss series - a new generation of modular, ultra-bright laser systems which builds on the success of the Sparks series and expands its scope into the lower price range. Germany - Cadac continues its expansion across all areas of sound production - including sound touring, theatre sound, event production, location and studio recording - with the ongoing diversification of its product portfolio and core technologies, resulting in the presentation of a range of new products in final production form at this year's Prolight&Sound exhibition.

Germany - e:cue lighting control - An Osram company, has introduced DMX2CC dimmers "for smooth and flicker-free dimming of high power LEDs". Using continuous current dimming method, DMX2CC dimmers enable control of 1W and 3W LEDs via a DMX control unit.

Available in six-channel and 12-channel versions, these devices feature a self-diagnostic test function preventing damages to the unit and LEDs caused by incorrect wiring, open or short circuit, and overheating.

A DMX out-port repeats and amplifies the DMX signal for convenient daisy chaining in projects where one DMX input signal must be distributed among several of these devices. DMX2CC is easily set up with auto and manual DMX addressing modes, and conveniently mountable inside equipment racks using standardized 35mm wide DIN rail.

Germany - Yamaha's new M7CL-48ES digital console, MY8-SDI-ED interface card and versatile TLF loudspeaker technology will be showcased at Prolight&Sound this month.

The latest M7CL replaces the 48 internal mic pre-amps with two EtherSound ports, keeping the MY card slots free for other uses such as multitrack recording, the Dante communication protocol or the use of Waves effects plug ins. A third port also allows permanent connection of the console to a computer while using EtherSound in 'ring' mode.

To make setup quick and easy, the M7CL-48ES auto-configures its connection to the Yamaha SB168-ES stage box and it features the updated V3 software, recently introduced for all M7CL consoles.

Germany - Elation Professional has announced the lineup of lighting fixtures it will exhibit at ProLight&Sound in Frankfurt this month. One definite trend that's emerged: the company is addressing the growing demand for fixtures that are more streamlined and energy-efficient, yet deliver output comparable or superior to larger, power-thirsty units of the past.

Among the fixtures Elation will be displaying at PLS are the Design Spot LED, E Spot LED and Platinum Spot 5R -- the first two powered by LED light sources, and the third featuring Philips MSD Platinum 5R Lamp Technology. "All three of these products represent exciting technological breakthroughs. They provide the power and brightness typically associated with a much larger fixture in an amazingly small and energy-efficient package," said Eric Loader, director of sales for Elation Professional.

USA - The newest addition to the Wybron family, the Cygnus 200W Wash, is now in production. Recently, Wybron's Colorado Springs facility put together an order of 12 white Cygnus units, a special request for Fordham University, who ordered them through PRG New Jersey.

Cygnus, one of the only LED luminaires on the market to employ an integrated RGBW quad die, greatly eliminates rainbow shadows caused by other LED lights. It also employs in-lens colour-mixing, meaning that the colour seen on the fixture is the same seen on the stage.

"We've finally achieved output levels and color rendering quality that allow LED fixtures to become something more than a novel wall wash," says Wybron director of technologies John Sondericker III.

Before they are shipped, each Cygnus is individually colour calibrated using an advanced proprietary process.

The two-channel amplifier DA 230 is equipped with comprehensive DSP features including matrix router, six fully parametric equalizers, with two crossover networks, delay and dynamic processor per channel. Factory and user presets may be stored inside the unit; an SD- card reader is implemented and can be used to easily transfer preset and system information to other units.
