USA - Technomad will introduce a new compact, high-power, all-environment 18-inch subwoofer at the 2010 InfoComm Show in Las Vegas next month.

The Technomad Oslo was developed specifically for the demanding requirements of themed entertainment applications both indoors and outdoors. It is one of the most powerful subwoofers available due to its very low frequency response (below 100Hz) and high power rating (1250 W continuous). These specifications combined with a high SPL allow the Oslo to produce a clean and powerful bass output, says the company.

The Oslo features an 18-inch low-frequency driver, making it the only completely weatherproof subwoofer currently available in the 18-inch format. The 23-23 is dnp's response to customers requesting higher-gain screens for smaller projectors, in order to reduce overall installation costs.

The manufacturers thus set themselves a design brief to develop a new generation screen material that would address and eliminate (or drastically reduce) previous screen limitations. The key objectives were to: improve brightness uniformity, improve horizontal viewing angles and eliminate or reduce shimmering. In order to meet these objectives, dnp had to develop a new technically sophisticated 'second generation' reflector.

UK - Servicing a wide roster of events in the north east of England with audio visual reinforcement, MT Audio were anxious to embrace the new world of LED technology.

According to Mal Turner, who set up the company in 1996 (originally to provide audio support), "Many of the venues we work are low on power and weight bearing provision, and since LED moving heads have come of age we decided to invest."

The new XLED 390's fitted the bill price wise - and when we put a unit up against a conventional 575W moving head it knocked spots off it - there was a massive difference in light intensity.
