USA - Delaware County Christian School in southeastern Pennsylvania has undergone the initial phase of a major refresh of the production technologies at its Arthur and Nancy DeMoss Centre for Worship and the Arts, including the installation of a new DiGiCo Quantum225 front-of-house mixing console.

The renovation project, overseen by Andre Houser of design, sales and integration company Houser Audio, encompasses everything from high-end sound, lighting, and video systems to a stage extension and new paint, drapes, and carpet.

“Our auditorium space hadn’t been touched in going on 25 years, so the equipment was completely outdated,” says Jacob Godino, the school’s director of operations. The school, popularly referred to simply as DC, is a Christian college preparatory school that serves the greater Philadelphia area, and the DeMoss Centre was c

UK - Glyndebourne opera house in Sussex is renowned for its annual summer festival, which attracts over 150,000 visitors, and its auditorium combines operatic tradition with cutting-edge production technology. Behind the scenes, seamless communication is critical to delivering world-class performances, and Glyndebourne recently upgraded its systems to include PunQtum’s IP-based communication solutions. This integration has revolutionised the way teams collaborate across the venue.

"Our communication system serves all production departments, from followspots to automation, wardrobe, and chaperones,” explains Jonathan Moss, head of sound and video at Glyndebourne. “We needed a mix of products that could address all user needs while enhancing operational flexibility and future-proofing our technical infrastructure. UK - Theatre Royal Plymouth (TRP) hosts a broad spectrum of performances including touring musicals, dance productions, comedy and drama. The Lyric Theatre is a versatile space with a seating capacity of 1,300, which can be reduced to 800 through the adjustment of the theatre’s unique moving roof. This adaptability allows the theatre to accommodate both large touring productions and more intimate performances.

Opened in 1982, the venue is known for its distinctive architecture, which, although renowned, presents challenges for sound installation. When TRP required an upgrade to its ageing sound system, EM Acoustics was chosen.

"I’ve been using EM products for years across all the venues in the theatre," says Dan Mitcham, head of sound at Theatre Royal Plymouth. "We’ve always had a great relationship with them, and the upgrade to EM for the

Israel - A large complement of Claypaky lighting fixtures played a key role in the recent performance of Israeli singer-songwriter Eden Hason at Menorah Arena, Tel Aviv.

Sincopa provided lighting designer Alon Shnaiderman with 160 Claypaky Sharpys, 70 Midi-Bs and 24 Scenius Unicos for the rig illuminating Hason, who is known for pop and Mizrahi music, which combines elements from the Middle East, North Africa and Europe.

The high-energy show had an emotional and powerful message with the artist sharing his personal journey with the audience and using the event to raise awareness of the ongoing war and hostage crisis.

The creative vision for the show was to deliver an immersive and dynamic experience that balanced high-energy visual spectacle with deeply emotional moments. “The lighting and stage design needed to enhance Eden’s pe

USA - When it came to lighting a recent one-off show for Everything Always Forever (the collaboration between John Summit and Dom Dolla), designer Marcus Jessup needed to look little further than the GLP portfolio for his creative solutions.

The show at the 20,000-capacity Gorge Amphitheatre, an outside concert venue in Washington state, unleashed an abundance of creative energy in this large-scale production, thanks largely to the use of GLP’s impression X5 IP Bars. This, he says, had made the collaboration a seamless one.

Jessup had been brought in by the creative house, Sturdy. “We collaborate on a variety of projects and in this instance, they recognised the need for someone with experience in large-scale outdoor scenography and lighting design,” he says. “Although the show at the Gorge was conceived as a one-off, elements of the design c

Switzerland - Pavilion Naftule, a new 1,200sq.m pop-up performance space specialising in comedy, has completed its debut season at Lausanne's Place Bellerive using a comprehensive L-Acoustics hyperreal immersive audio solution.

Named after the late Pierre Naftule, a respected regional comedy producer, the dismantlable venue attracted nearly 30,000 spectators across 100 performances featuring a diverse programme of comedy and musical productions. A listed building and named for its former role as a sheep trading market, the Fleece enjoyed a comprehensive refurbishment in 2021, upgrading its facilities for both audience and performers alike. The stage and associated production areas were completely redesigned.

Technical manager Rich Munday oversaw every aspect of the transformation, which initially retained the venue’s Midas Pro 2 console at front of house. After the refurbishment, when the venue was in a position to upgrade, Munday wanted to maintain the Midas ecosystem and opted to bring in the Midas

UK - With an 11-piece line-up based on the 1988-89 A Delicate Sound of Thunder touring band, The Delicate Sound of Pink Floyd has quickly become established as one of the UK’s leading Pink Floyd tribute bands. Shows typically take place in remarkable architectural spaces, most recently in early March at Oxford Town Hall, a Grade II listed late 19th century building.

Lighting and lasers enhanced the show, which also put an emphasis on precision sound. To ensure consistently high production standards, the band always uses Oxford-based Event Production Services for whom Nexo is the sound system of choice for both front of house and stage monitoring.

“We’re using a Nexo Geo M12 front-of-house system, the reason being that it’s very quick to rig, it sounds fantastic, and its directivity keeps things well controlled within these types of b

Canada - Lighting a festival in a former power plant lends itself to electrifying images. The team at Onedot certainly thought so. They took this inspiration and flew with it during the three-day Lumen Festival that Produkt produced at New City Gas, a site that traces its roots back to an 1849 generating station.

The hard-edged venue in Montreal still bears witness to its industrial heritage, and the designers at Onedot smartly played on this evocative aura to create an intense, aggressive show that bristled with kinetic energy while supporting performances by Timmy Trumpet, Gordo, Adventure Club and other EDM stars.

Onedot's design team hung illuminated bars on kinetic winches down from the vaulted ceiling over the dancefloor. Crossing over the room, these bars added to the raw edginess of the performances, carving up the overhead space wit

Finland - In the vibrant Konepaja neighbourhood of Helsinki, an audio-visual hub known as Kino Konepaja has emerged. More than just a cinema, the space is an intersection of film, production, and sound design coupled with a New York soul that’s led by Jussi Myllyniemi of Whitepoint, a Finnish post-production company. It’s here that Genelec’s loudspeaker technology plays a key role, transforming a once-traditional space into a venue that ‘blends exceptional sound with the latest on-screen hits’.

The intimate, 55-seat venue was conceived as a production space that could also serve as a cinema, driven by Myllyniemi’s background in post-production and commercial movie events. “Initially, we considered collaborating with existing cinemas, but when that didn’t work out, we decided to create our own,” he explains. “We’d had this facility in

Italy - The University of Bari Aldo Moro, located in Puglia, celebrated 100 years since its foundation in 1925 with two pieces of light art created by Pino Loconsole, owner of Bari-based rental company Lucidiscena.

Pino was commissioned to create the works by Stefano Bronzini, the university’s Dean, and the lighting fixtures were from Lucidiscena’s rental stock. With almost 40,000 students, the University of Bari offers different degree courses, ranging from literature and philosophy to physics and the life sciences.

The two lighting installations were very different. For the main building in Palazzo Ateneo, which is also the university’s faculty of literature and philosophy, Pino wanted to make a big impact, and the iBolts

Europe - Austrian rapper, singer and producer RAF Camora recently completed his successful 10-date Anthrazit Forever Tour 2024 of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland under a ceiling of Ayrton Zonda 9 FX fixtures.

A total of 90 of the Ayrton fixtures were chosen by lighting designers Raphael Grebenstein and Ole Güllich of Light Art Studios as the centrepiece of their design.

54 Zonda 9 FX were arranged in a central 18x3 matrix above and parallel to the stage runway extending into the audience, and the remaining 36 fixtures rigged in four small 3x3 pods to the left and right of the centrepiece, with all the pods and matrices slightly tilted.

“The design concept was aimed at extending the urban-style content from the LED wall up into the roof, creating a cohesive look while also emphasizing the stage shape,” says Grebenstein. “We d

Europe - Alongside the release of their eighth and final album Heaven :x: Hell in March 2024, pop-punk icons Sum 41 announced Tour of the Setting Sum, an ambitious multi-continent arena tour that served as a fitting farewell to a 30-year career.

Throughout Asia, North America, and Europe, the Canadian rockers played more than a hundred shows for millions of passionate fans eager to see them one last time. For the 24-venue run in Europe, culminating in a sold-out performance in Nanterre, France, production manager Ivan Copelan said they considered several audio systems, ultimately selecting Cohesion for “the simple reason - the sound of it”.

16 Cohesion CO12 per side comprised the main hangs, and an additional 12 CO12 were hung on either side. “The CO12 go so low - the subs are there for lifting,” said FOH engineer Bryan Camp

USA - Audient co-sponsored The Shadowmaker, a new show from Simon Shackleton which recently premiered at Denver’s Holiday Theatre - to a standing ovation. Created by the award-winning British producer and his filmmaker wife Chele Gutek, The Shadowmaker show is the first of its kind from an electronic producer, featuring live performance of songs from Shackleton’s new album of the same name.

Audient helped Shackleton enhance his audio setup with an EVO SP8, the eight-channel smart preamp with AD/DA. Pairing that with his EVO 16 audio interface, Shackleton now has 16 channels of both inputs and outputs with EVO Expanded System.

“The EVO SP8 is the perfect addition to the EVO 16 for my live shows, where I need more than eight channels of audio going out to FOH,” said Shackleton. “It’s super simple to daisy-chain the two uni

Europe - Mark Clements has been touring with Level 42 for over 23 years; for the last 16, he has been using DiGiCo consoles provided by Neal Allen, CEO of Merlin PA Hire. For the band’s 2024 touring dates Allen joined the tour mixing monitors, with Clements at the front-of-house position.

The year began with the pair using a Quantum 225 at FOH and an SD10-24 for monitors. Towards the end of the year, they swapped to a Quantum 338 at FOH, and a Quantum 326 at monitors for the London O2 indigo shows. 2025 will see the Quantum 338 changing to a Quantum 225 for the overseas shows to fit the slimmed-down logistics package.

“I love the Quantum 225 and 338,” Clements explains. “Their size is just right, the frames are easy to manoeuvre into any venue, and the small FOH footprint and connectivity options are massive plus points. We have 48 inputs fro

USA - Visitors to February's San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo were awed by the balance and dexterity of the cowboys and cowgirls who roped and rode on the arena floor. But the heroics of these athletes weren't the only impressive feats that took place at the spacious Frost Bank Centre during the three-week event.

David Jackson of LD Systems and his crew did some impressive turns too. Every day, they set up and closed down a 40ft wide by 34ft-deep stage during the rodeo, while also accommodating floor packages for its star entertainers, a group that included Nelly, Keith Urban, Jon Pardi, Joe Nichols, the Eli Young Band, LeAnn Rimes, Sammy Hagar and Dwight Yoakam among others.

"For our crew, the challenges of working within the limited time windows to maintain the rig had to be addressed," said Jackson, who served as lighting lead and program

Foo Fighters embarked on the tour in 2024 in support of their 11th studio album But Here We Are. Given that the tour stops spanned large indoor venues, outdoor festival stages, and stadiums, Hadley was tasked to create a lighting rig that could be implemented across a wide range of venue types and maintain their basic mission of visually amplifying the band without drawing attention away from them.

After using the Martin MAC Aura fixtures for the first leg of the tour, Hadley decided to implement the recently released MAC One for the band’s
