USA - Coda Audio is launching its ultra-compact two-way Arrayable Point Source N-APS at this year’s InfoComm.
Combining the versatility of a point source with the arrayability of a line array, N-APS offers a sound reinforcement system for small to medium size venues by delivering twice the power handling, as well as significantly more low-end, than other comparable sized systems, says the company.
N-APS is the smaller sibling of Coda Audio’s APS system. For smaller venues or corporate events where, for example, the geometry of a space might be considered to make coverage awkward, N-APS provides “an unobtrusive, ultra-small, yet phenomenally powerful solution”.
Complementing the launch of N-APS, Coda Audio is also introducing N-SUB, a compact 15” high output subwoofer that reaches as low as 30Hz. Like N-APS, N-SUB benefits from DAC which allows it to re

UK – Lighting designer Jon Trincas of design house Co1ab used Prolights LumiPIX 15IP LED battens to create powerful effects lighting for British dance duo, Third Party’s LIIIVE show at the Eventim Olympia, Liverpool.
The all-nighter event formed part of Third Party’s 2019 Together worldwide album tour, and featured a full roster of artists from the progressive house scene.
LD Jon had been impressed by the LumiPIX 15IP fixture’s performance on previous live events, so decided to put it centre-stage in his lighting design for the Third Party show.
He utilised 24 fixtures, arranged in two vertical columns either side of the stage, and pixel-mapped content onto each battens’ 15 separate RGBW LED cells, to create impressive, powerfully bright ‘eye candy’ looks to emphasise the artists’ euphoric and anthemic dance sets.

USA - The all new A-Series from d&b audiotechnik introduces the augmented array: an advanced loudspeaker concept born from the d&b applied evolution system development philosophy. Combining variable splay angles, two approaches to acoustic optimization, and advanced waveguide design, the A-Series addresses applications where coverage flexibility in both the horizontal and the vertical is paramount.
Realising all the adaptability of a point source cluster with the extensive control options of a d&b line array, the system comprises the AL60 and AL90 loudspeakers, with ALi60 and ALi90 offering cabinets designed specifically for permanent installation.
Using the appropriate frame, up to four AL60/AL90 and ALi60/ALi90 loudspeakers can be flown either in vertical or horizontal arrays. Variable splay angles between adjacent cabinets can be set in five degree incr

USA - Launching at InfoComm 2019, MFX Multi-Function Monitors MFX-12MC and MFX-15MC are passive 12” and 15” two-way coaxial monitors with a performance level engineered to complement the X-Line Advance line array models X1, X2, X12-128 and X12-125F, and corresponding installation versions.
MFX Multi-Function Monitors utilise high-output coaxially aligned HF and LF transducers matched with an innovative new Electro-Voice-engineered Constant-Directivity waveguide and a new crossover design. Coverage in monitor orientation is 40° H x 60° V. The dimensions and location of the waveguide interact with the woofer to effectively create a bipole output, enhancing coverage control through the midrange frequencies.
In addition to providing a stable sound image as the performer moves off-axis, the compact coaxial design presents a significantly lower-profile footprint on s

USA - DPA Microphones is previewing a new addition to its microphone line-up, the 4097 CORE Supercardioid Choir Microphone, at InfoComm 2019.
Suitable for house of worship and choir applications, the 4097 provides the same sonic qualities as the brand’s d:vote CORE 4099 Instrument Microphone but was designed specifically to capture dynamic choir sound, with both wireless or wired configurations.
The 4097 Choir Mic also features DPA’s flat off-axis supercardioid pattern and, like all DPA microphones, has been designed to be one of the most natural-sounding solutions available. As a result, the microphone has a very high-gain-before-feedback, and due to the off-axis characteristic that DPA is renowned for, it makes the entire choir sound natural - not just on axis - but from all angles. This makes using multiple mics on the choir easy for the sound engineer as he can

USA - Nexo’s new P12 is billed as “an ultra-versatile multi-purpose loudspeaker, bringing ingenious technical innovation to a wide range of sound reinforcement applications”.

Inside the curvilinear enclosure of custom birch and poplar plywood, the P12 employs a purpose-designed 12” LF neodymium driver and 3” diaphragm HF driver in a coaxial configuration. The cabinet footprint is very compact, measuring 531mm x 432mm x 317mm. Frequency response is 60Hz-20kHz, and the SPL is an impressive 138dB Peak (passive)/140dB Peak (active mode).
In an innovative design twist which allows the user to customise

USA - Danley has introduced the J7-95 Jericho Horn cabinet at InfoComm.
The loudspeaker has the smallest footprint in the Jericho Series by being only 3ft tall (just under 1m) and weighing 265 pounds (116kg).

With him all the way, on every one of the 73 episodes (plus the pilot), has been a series of ChamSys consoles.
“I met the producers through my gaffer friend and was given the opportunity to work on the pilot,” said Shanks, owner of Key Console Systems in Belfast. “We never looked back, as I’ve been programming the show ever since that day, right up to the final episode.”
Shanks had never used a ChamSys
