UK - Servicing a wide roster of events in the north east of England with audio visual reinforcement, MT Audio were anxious to embrace the new world of LED technology.

According to Mal Turner, who set up the company in 1996 (originally to provide audio support), "Many of the venues we work are low on power and weight bearing provision, and since LED moving heads have come of age we decided to invest."

He looked at several options, but already had a trading relationship with MilTec (UK), distributors for PR Lighting. "We have bought PR fixtures in the past and found them to be reliable. The new XLED 390's fitted the bill price wise - and when we put a unit up against a conventional 575W moving head it knocked spots off it - there was a massive difference in light intensity.

USA - Production Resource Group (PRG) provided the lighting system, including its new V676 lighting control console, for the new Broadway musical, The Addams Family. Lighting designer Natasha Katz worked closely with directors and production designers Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch to capture the shadowy light of the spooky mansion that is the setting for the show.

"Charles Addams, in his old cartoons, was very, very aware of light; there are a lot of shadows," says Katz. For her design, she wanted to create the feel of shafts of light coming through the closed blinds of the house. She was pleased to find the set design was moving in the same direction, "When I saw that the whole set is actually shutters, it was definitely a great taking off point for the design of the show."

The high walls of the set created an interesting challenge. "I did

The backdrop graphics provided subtle enhancements to the production, a series of silhouettes and computer-generated animations that were stylish without distracting from the drama of this early 19th-century work.

"The graphics were beautiful and amazing," stated media server programmer Martin Potoczny of Visivo Visual Design who has worked with the Maxedia system for years.

"We used all custom created content by Lava Studio of Miami who provided a hard drive with all the content segments. I then put the show together with timing and
