Point Source's Stephen Capel with some of the new 5 Star cases
UK - Leading European flightcase specialist 5 Star has delivered a new order of cases to Sutton, Surrey, UK, based rental and technical solutions provider Point Source Productions to house a variety of new lighting equipment including control and both conventional and moving lights.

Point Source has been using 5 Star for the majority of its case requirements for the last seven years. In fact, the very first cases that 5 Star built for them are still going strong and are in regular use today - a real testament to their robust build!

Says Point Source Productions' MD Stephen Capel: "When you order a rugged, well-constructed case from 5 Star - that's exactly what you get! The quality, attention to detail and longevity is absolutely worth it."

Point Source embraces the same philosophy as 5 Star in striving to provide the very best quality of service and options for their vibrant client base. This means not always taking the cheapest solution - but the best!

This latest batch of equipment to be cased includes ETC Ion lighting consoles and Clay Paky Alpha Spot HPE 700 moving lights - two of these fixtures fit neatly into each case.

Other cases were supplied each to fit three new CP A.Leda LED washlights, and these were joined by both tall general purpose lantern trunks and short GP lantern trunks. These GP cases are modular and can be used to accommodate a number of different lantern types.

All Point Source's cases are based on 5 Star's popular standard Eurotruckers 'Quarterpack' range that can vary in length and be fitted four-wide in the back of the truck for convenience and speed. These are designed specifically for touring and being highly portable.

The dynamic and practical Eurotrucker is one of 5 Star's best sellers - with thousands produced since the range was launched almost fifteen years ago. Options include a selection of tray and divider formats as well as recessed stacking (for wheels) and PAL label dishes.

5 Star's investment in Solid Edge 3D visualisation software enables fully rendered images of 'Special Projects' cases to be produced which can then be tweaked if necessary before production.

The Point Source cases were finished in high pressure laminate (HPL) in the company's bespoke blue signature colour.
