The Home page features colourful, easy to navigate links, which are regularly updated and have been designed to guide browsers quickly to the relevant sections of the site.5 Star's continued investment and innovative qualities are highlighted, including a new 'Technology' section, added to detail 5 Star's recently installed Solid Edge software, a world renowned 3D design, assembly and visualisation tool of which 5 Star has three 'seats'. Solid Edge is now used in production as well as providing clients with accurate virtual models of the proposed case.
There's also included a regularly updated section dedicated to these 'Virtual Cases'.The Download area offers a free program, XpresReview from UGS, so users can view SE models in full rotation, pan and zoom. A selection of case models is already available, updated as new ones are produced. Another new section is 'Featured Projects', illustrating recent case designs or contracts, usually with added interest or unique features. The section describes the client's requirements and how 5 Star came up with the right solution.'Case Styles' is a practical new section - giving insight into the terminology of the many different case styles used. Visitors can see images of most case styles plus a brief description of the layout, hardware, lid splits etc.The 'Industry' section caters for all the case specifications, from Lite-Flite through to the recently introduced Super Tour. Each specification describes construction, hardware options and a selection of images from the range. Sister company Mossman Trunks also features in an updated dedicated area of the site, and the re-styled 'DJ & Music' section now provides a complete listing of standard cases for pro DJs and musicians.
The 5 Star 'Production Schedule' link is also upcoming. This features a brand new system devised by 5 Star's technical team to enable clients to view any orders currently 'under construction'. Updated hourly, it shows the individual items and their location in the relevant production areas.
A profile of 5 Star Cases appears in the March issue of Lighting&Sound International magazine.
