Speaking about the change of distribution for USA and Canada Paul Mulholland, CEO of Jands, said: "Our products were previously distributed in the USA, by ACT Lighting of Agoura Hills, California. However, recently both ACT and Jands have moved in different directions and we mutually agreed to end our association."
Mulholland went on to say: "Jands has had a long standing relationship with AC Lighting in the UK and Europe and we look forward to being a part of their plans for expansion into Canada and the USA."
Jands will be showing an updated version of the Vista lighting console on the AC Lighting booth (#109) at the upcoming LDI show in Orlando (21-23 November). The Vista dispenses with touch-screens and keyboards in favour of a pen and a huge colour screen. The result, they say, is unprecedented creative power and control over every show aspect. Another major innovation is the inclusion of a timeline that lets programmers see what's happening in their design in relation to time. At LDI, Jands will unveil further enhancements to the Vista timeline, including summary by fixture and feature views and the integration of audio tracks to aid pre-show programming. Other features include a generic fixture model that takes the hassle out of changing fixtures, split-able fader banks and a host of user-definable buttons and assigned encoder wheels.
In addition to the large format Vista 4 shown at PLASA, the new Vista 2 and Vista PC consoles will also be unveiled at LDI, along with other Jands consoles such as the Event 4 and ESPII.
