Featuring Alcons' proprietary multiple-patented pro-ribbon driver technology, the CRS12GT combines an exceptional clarity and intelligibility with an unusually high dynamic range and up to 90% less distortion than traditional cinema surround systems. It is the ideal loudspeaker technology for complex sound sources as speech, music and effects and offers the most realistic immersive surround sound reproduction possible.
By utilizing identical MHF pro-ribbon transducers for screen- and surround systems, an exceptionally wide and uniform sound stage throughout the entire listening area is realized; This is especially striking in multi-channel cinema surround systems, but also in performing arts theatre surround systems.
The CRS12GT system consists of one RBN601 6" pro-ribbon driver for HF and a vented 12" mid-bass for LF reproduction. The CRS12GT HF section has a 1.000W peak power input, enabling a 1:15 RMS-to-peak dynamic range with lowest distortion from 1.000Hz to beyond 20.000Hz. The absence of a "compression threshold", caters for a linear tonal balance at any SPL, from the almost silent whisper to even the largest explosions.
For full system performance, the CRS12GT is to be driven by an Alcons ALC amplified loudspeaker controller, delivering maximum high-end HiFi sound quality with increased headroom and utmost operation reliability. The CRS12GT is available in 8 ohms and 4 ohms version, for maximum amplifier efficiency in individually-amplified immersive surround systems.
A specific Alcons feature, most interesting for cinema applications with its long speaker cables, is the Signal Integrity Sensing pre-wiring. This circuit inside the ALC ensures complete cable/connector compensation between the CRS12GT speaker and ALC amplified loudspeaker controller, significantly increasing response accuracy, regardless of cable length and system impedance, with tight and accurate mid and bass response as result (system damping factor of 10.000).
