Allrn & Heath's stand at this week's PLASA Show.
UK - Allen & Heath hosted an anniversary party during PLASA on the walkway of London's Tower Bridge to celebrate 35 years in the pro audio business. Around 70 guests from its network of overseas distributors and the press attended a dinner with special guest speakers from the original management team - Andrew Sterling and Ivor Taylor - who joined the company in 1969.

Allen & Heath's managing director, Glenn Rogers, commented: "For anyone in the manufacturing industry to survive 35 years and to still be continually expanding is a phenomenal success. Allen & Heath has an extraordinarily innovative past and we are heading towards a bright and exciting future. Here's to the next 35 years!"

The evening also acknowledged the individual achievements of Allen & Heath's international partners, with the presentation of the annual distributor awards. Pro Audio Marketing in Germany received an award for 'Most Improved Installation Product Distributor', Nefan Ticaret Ve Sanayi Ltd STI from Turkey was awarded 'Most Improved Console Distributor', while Allen & Heath's own UK operation was awarded 'Best DJ Distributor'. The most prestigious award of the evening went to the Netherlands, as TM Audio was presented with the Distributor of the Year award.

Meanwhile, across town, Allen & Heath was presented with an award of its own, scooping one of the top prizes at the renowned DJ magazine T-Scan Awards when the Xone:92 MIDI-enabled DJ mixer was awarded 'Best Innovative Product'.

The PLASA event was a great success for Allen & Heath, which had products from every range in its portfolio on display. Visitors were impressed by the 96-channel ML5000 VCA console as well as the new MixWizard range, which made its UK debut at the show, while the iDR training sessions received much interest from installers and dealers, say A&H. The new Xone VF-1 analogue filter unit was an instant hit, and many DJ's came to try out the MIDI-enabled Xone:92 mixer, which also debuted at the show, following its launch last December.

Allen & Heath's pro scratch Xone:02 mixer was put through its paces by young scratch champ, IQ, and guest MC, Asaviour, while visitors gathered to see Richie Hawtin's singular techno performance on the Xone:92. Top DJs including Lee Burridge, John '00' Fleming, James Zabiela, John Digweed and Pete Tong also came by to check out the VF-1, Xone:V6 and Xone:92 products.
