USA - American Audio recently announced that sound contractors and pro audio installers can choose from four distinct size options with its new PXI Series of powered speakers.

Designed to match any application, the PXI series includes 8", 10", 12" and 15" versions. All four of the new models - the PXI 8P, PXI 10P, PXI 12P and PXI 15P - include a high-powered bi-amplifier system with electronic crossover for sonic clarity, presence and punch, say the company.

"With such a wide array of models to choose from in our new PXI Series, you don't have to try to make the wrong size speaker work for the job," said Tom Freret, national sales manager for American Audio. "Until now, there hasn't been a lot of variety in that market. There are plenty of 10s and 15s on the market, but not many 8s and 12s. Now, with the PXI series you can find a speaker that's a perfect fit for virtually any application."

PXI Series speakers offer a professional-grade, super flat frequency response on all models ensures unrivaled accuracy in sound reproduction. Both XLR and RCA line inputs are included, along with two microphone inputs (XLR and 1/4" stereo) with separate mic volume control. With a trapezoidal design for a multitude of placement options, all four speakers are both flyable and stand mountable, with hanging brackets provided. A blue LED indicator on the front of each speaker lets the user know at a glance if the unit is up and running.

The speakers are lightweight with handles for easy transport, and their ABS nylon fiber cabinets make them rugged enough to withstand the most brutal rigors of the road. The 8" PXI 8P is designed for the most modest pro audio applications, powered by a 100W built-in bi-amplifier system. It has a sensitivity reading of 90 ± 2 db/m/w and a frequency response of 50-17KHz (-10db). Volume output control is also included.

The PXI 10P is a slightly larger 200W system featuring a 10" woofer with 40oz. magnet and a 1" compression driver. It has a sensitivity reading of 94 ± 2dB/m/w and boasts a frequency response of 50-17KHz (-10db). Treble, bass and volume output controls give the engineer the power to adjust the audio balance precisely to his specifications.

The heavy-duty PXI 12P is powered by a built-in 300W bi-amplifier system. Featuring a 12" flat-wound cast frame woofer with 1" compression driver, the PXI 12P has a high sensitivity reading of 96.5 ± 2 dB/m/w and offers a frequency response of 40-17KHz (-10db). Treble, bass and volume control are included.

Finally the most powerful of the PXI Series, the PXI 15P has a built-in 400W bi-amplifier system capable of filling even the largest venues. It features a 15" flat-wound cast frame woofer with a 80oz. magnet and a 1" compression driver. The sensitivity reading of the PXI 15P is 97.4 ± 2dB/m/w, and its frequency response is rated from 40-17KHz (-10db).
