Denmark - DPA Microphones has appointed its first-ever distributor for Mexico, AM TecnologĂa (AMTEC), based in Mexico City. AMTEC was founded in 1991 by current president Andrés MartĂnez to represent TV, film and audio equipment manufacturers in Mexico.

"Our appointment as the DPA representative means a lot for AMTEC, because we had been actively searching for a high quality, reliable microphone range which we can sell into our different market sectors," says Martinez. "With DPA we've found all of this, plus their desire to support us in introducing their products to Mexico."

AMTEC has got off to a flying start, selling 48 DPA 4063 miniature omni-directional mics to Azteca Digital (TV Azteca), which has already placed an order for another 50.

"When we met Andrés we immediately felt that we had found the right partner," says DPA founder Morten Stove. "Andrés runs a professional operation with great staff, with whom we feel very comfortable."
