As grounds for the expansion of an Andalusian firm into the colder reaches of Northern Europe, he cited "a desire for closer contact with our customers and for the company to grow. We had noticed that many of our customers frequently worked in London, so London was the logical location for our first foreign branch." It is unlikely to be the last Apogee branch outside Spain. "We want to expand," says Fragio, "and extend our services to all Europe . . .", the ultimate goal being "at least one branch in every European country."
To meet its ambitious targets, Apogee SA has already begun expanding its workforce. At the moment, the staff comprises just under 50 full-time employees, 12 part-timers and over 180, mainly exclusive, high-calibre freelancers. In addition to the high level of motivation and competence of the workforce (the company organizes regular training courses), the dynamo driving the Spanish full-service provider is the quality of its inventory and service. A key role here is played by systems from Electro-Voice and Midas. Fragio explains: "We aim to become the leading company in our sector. That's why the only equipment that interests us is the best on the market."
During its successful concert season, 2004, Apogee SA handled a number of tours and festivals, including the San Sebastian Jazz Festival, the Andy & Lucas Tour and Costa Pop.
