UK / USA - London-based Artistic Licence and Super Vision International of Orlando, Florida, USA, have announced the signing of a joint development agreement to develop LED control systems. Artistic Licence is one of the early pioneers of software development and electronic control systems in the lighting industry. Their systems are installed in lighting venues and entertainment complexes worldwide. Super Vision is a world-leading manufacturer of LED and fiber optic lighting systems. The partnership will develop the industry standard for regulating and controlling LED lighting systems that will be made available for open and widespread use throughout the industry.

Wayne Howell, managing director of Artistic Licence stated: "Both Artistic Licence and Super Vision are leaders in their field and respected pioneers of innovative technology. This new technology sharing agreement allows our companies to pool our resources and intellectual property. Our first area of cooperation is in the LED arena. Both companies are keen to see our wealth of IP and recent new inventions made available to the industry with fairness and nominal cost. I am sure that manufacturers and customers alike will see this as a hugely positive step forward compared to the recent dark ages of LED IP."

Brett Kingstone, CEO of Super Vision stated: "It is an honor to work with Wayne and his team at Artistic Licence. They share our vision of providing an open architecture in which all developers and manufactures in the industry can participate, similar to Linux in the software industry. Their vision of accelerating the growth of the LED lighting industry through a spirit of cooperation and support is inspiring."
