Jessica Gardinet McInerney receives the Audient Award from programme leader Michael Gavin

Ireland - An Audient iD14 audio interface was awarded to Jessica Gardiner McInerney at the LSAD Graduate Show at the Limerick School of Art & Design - part of the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) - last month. Recognising her as an outstanding student who excelled throughout her studies, the prize-giving is part of an exhibition celebrating the work of final year students across a wide range of creative disciplines.

The exhibition is an annual event which features standout projects in fine art, fashion, animation, graphic design, music production & technology, and creative broadcast & film production. Open to the public, the show is a major event in Ireland’s cultural calendar and a key platform for emerging talent.

Michael Gavin, co-programme leader of the undergraduate Music Production and Technology programme explains how Audient has been a part of Jessica and her peers’ education throughout their time at the college. “We are proud to use Audient products across our facilities, from our ASP4816 consoles to the iD4 interfaces in our computer workstations and the ASP800s in our studios. The gear has been instrumental in helping our students develop their skills, and we truly appreciate the quality and reliability Audient brings to our workflow.”

Michael confirms that the standard of graduates was high this year, describing them as “an exceptional group. We have a very diverse cohort - live sound & lighting engineers, producers, event managers and musicians. Over the course of their studies with us, they really gelled as a group and that created a wonderfully collaborative and supportive environment for everyone involved.”

Jessica, who graduated as a Bachelor of Science in Music Production & Technology with First Class Honours, tells of her interactions with Audient products. “We used the audio interfaces on every computer in the audio labs. I found them especially helpful when in classes studying mixing and mastering. Controlling levels was simple and intuitive and setup was seamless across different DAWs. What stood out most to me was the clean, straightforward design and user-friendly controls.

“As a student with dyslexia this simplicity made the learning process a lot smoother and less overwhelming.” Now she gets her own iD14 to continue her songwriting and singing, as she embarks on her next chapter. “Receiving this award feels like a fresh start. It’s given me the motivation and hope to reconnect with my music again.”

Marketing & product director at Audient, Andrew Allen adds, “Audient is committed to supporting the next generation of audio professionals, and we are delighted to see how Audient products are woven into the fabric of the LSAD TUS music production department. We wish Jessica - and all the graduates - the very best in their next endeavours.”
