The CX10 has been designed in response to specific demands from the market for an audio priority unit that enables multi-source audio systems to interface with fire alarms. It connects between the mixer/pre-amp and the power amplifier and can handle up to 10 audio output channels. The priority signal (such as a fire alarm or emergency microphone) is connected to a designated input socket, and when triggered the CX10 attenuates the original programme by a preset amount (or silences it completely) and feeds the priority signal to all 10 audio outputs.
Once the CX10s trigger is switched off, the original sound source will fade back to its original level on each channel. Multiple units can be interconnected to increase the number of audio output channels which are controlled. Equally suited to use with either existing or new installations the CX10 is not restricted to entertainment venues, and may be used with any sound system requiring a priority override facility.
An optional version, the CX10-T, offers additional preset controls that allow the level of the priority signal delivered to each output to be adjusted individually, thus catering for the varying acoustic environments in the different areas served by the output channels.
