The highly creative set design was built around two OLite 510 LED displays totaling 30sq.m of modular LED blocks. Set back from the OLite were a total of 8,000 MiPIX blocks which gave the set depth. Two SLM R12+ projectors provided the 4,600 capacity crowd with a front seat view of what was happening on stage, as well the MTV short animation film that played at intervals throughout the show.
All Barco products were supplied and installed by Tedtronic Pte Ltd of Singapore, one of Barco's largest Asian rental partners. Mr Ted Lai, President of Tedtronic, says: "It is fantastic to see such an important event using products like OLite 510 and MiPIX. The level of creativity achieved and flexibility of use really set the product apart."
The MTV Asia Awards is the biggest regional awards show to bring together and pay tribute to the best talent that Asia has to offer, and to recognise and reward the fans' favourite acts. The show was jointly hosted by multi-talented Kelly Rowland (Destiny's Child) and Asian heartthrob Wang Leehom.
