Belgium / USA - Barco has announced two new products in its Event Master series of screen management systems: the S3-4K, a compact processor, and the EC-50, a lightweight, Event Master Toolset-compatible controller.

Exactly one year ago, Barco unveiled the E2 image processor to rave reviews at InfoComm in Las Vegas. Supporting native 4K input and output, the E2 screen management system instantly raised the industry bar for live event processing, as the only solution capable of managing a 4K projector blend with refresh rates of up to 60 Hz.

S3-4K, the smaller version of the E2, boasts the same processing performance and image quality. Featuring 12 input channels, four programme outputs, four AUX outputs and two dedicated Multiviewer outputs, it is suited for the rental and staging market, broadcast studios and mid-sized performance venues. "The S3-4K is the E2's more compact sidekick," explains Andreas Yerocostas, director of image processing R&D at Barco. "It offers unparalleled flexibility, excellent image quality and rugged durability to create a stunning live experience, all in a single compact and roadworthy enclosure."

Along with the S3-4K, Barco is launching the Event Master EC-50 event controller. This compact, highly versatile controller provides instant access and excellent situational awareness for a multitude of event applications, says the company. "As the perfect extension of the Event Master Toolset software, the EC-50 gives fingertip control over source, preset, layer and destination selection, along with a second touch-enabled display," says Yerocostas. The EC-50 is compatible with both the S3-4K and the E2 screen management systems.

The S3-4K and EC-50 will be on display at InfoComm 2015 in the Barco booth, #2529, at the Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando this week.
