Version 1.2 of the popular daVinci software features a number of new capabilities that make the software more efficient and even easier to operate for end-users of varying technical backgrounds. New to daVinci 1.2 is the Auto-Connect function which automatically locates a Biamp component and its network settings, and then quickly loads component presets and control functions on to a GUI-based, full-screen layout.
"Biamp Systems' DSP and network components enable contractors and consultants to engineer state-of-the-art audio networks, but to truly capitalise on the advanced features and benefits of these technologies it has been critical that we also provide an intuitive and powerful interface with a low learning curve that the end-user community can immediately relate to and begin working with," said Matt Czyzewski, VP of technical operations, Biamp. "The introduction of daVinci 1.2 addresses this need and comprehensively ensures that our customers can continue to create highly intuitive control interfaces for Audia or Nexia."
daVinci 1.2 has also been redesigned to support Biamp's TI-2 telephone interface. This gives integrators the ability to create customised control screens for any size teleconferencing application when installing either an AudiaFlex or Nexia TC component; dialer controls that support bitmaps and a wide range of colours when creating unique dialer buttons; and an optional speed dial pad for added convenience.
Other enhancements to daVinci 1.2 include: a 'full window mode' function that allows users to minimise a full-screen interface if another program needs to be accessed; added support for linking LED controls to Router cross-points; new auto-font scaling capabilities for all controls; new editing and dialing label fields on particular controls; and separate on/off text labels for button controls that toggle certain network functions.
Biamp have also introduced its newest line of digital signal processors: The Nexia VC and Nexia TC, which are designed specifically to provide crisp, clear audio in any videoconferencing or teleconferencing application. The Nexia VC and Nexia TC processors are intuitive, network-ready processors that provide a full range of audio routing and signal processing features, including full wide-band acoustic echo cancellation, in single, economical, easy to install boxes, says the company.
Shipping in early August, the Nexia VC and Nexia TC processors feature Biamp's 20 Hz to 20 kHz acoustic echo cancellation during multiple participant conversations. Previously available only in the AEC2w add-on cards for Biamp's AudiaFlex, this wideband acoustic echo canceling greatly enhances intelligibility and audio performance in conference settings, especially videoconferences. Nexia VC and Nexia TC also feature a network-friendly open architecture design that allows integrators to customise each unit to meet each project's room-specific criteria.
"Nexia VC and Nexia TC are both out-of-the-box, easy to install products that will save integrators and end-users alike time and effort and, ultimately, money," says Czyzewski. "Nexia VC and TC are economical, intuitive solutions for any audio or video network, and give integrators the functionality of Biamp's Nexia and some of the flexibility of the Audia Digital Audio Platform - all in a single rackspace box!"
