UK - BioPak has announced its collaboration with Live Nation UK, offering a deal for all traders and crew caterers at its UK festivals and outdoor concerts this summer.
The initiative is in line with Green Nation, Live Nation’s global sustainability arm, which sets out sustainability goals for all Live Nation-owned and operated venues, clubs, theatres, and festivals. Their primary targets are reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and phasing out the use of single-use plastics. As part of this ongoing commitment, all items used must be either reusable, renewable, certified compostable, or, if unavoidable, made from at least 30% recycled content.
The deal gives traders and crew caterers a discount on compliant, certified compostable foodservice packaging at any Live Nation UK or Festival Republic events between May and August 2024.
BioPak technical director Sam Walker comments, “This alliance further cements BioPak’s position in the sustainable food packaging industry as the preferred supplier. The deal will give the confidence to Live Nation, Festival Republic and all traders and crew caterers that the food packaging at their events meets the stringent policies helping the operators reduce the environmental impact of live events.”

All food and beverage items at all Live Nation’s events are currently served in compostable and recyclable packaging and dedicated sustainability teams work with professional waste management companies to donate, recycle and/or compost materials at local facilities.
