The event was a charismatic renewal conference which started with all 5,000 devotees gathered in the main hall for a welcome and worship. A programme of interactive events including teaching and prayers then took place all day Friday and these were followed by an overnight vigil. A further two shows ran on Saturday and Sunday featuring charismatic leader, Pastor Chris preaching from Lagos. This sermon was transmitted via a hard satellite feed to Excel ensuring it could be watched in both London and South Africa. Blitz Sound recorded both audio and video throughout the four days, which were edited, remixed and sold as a DVD at the end of the event.
As would be expected for this scale of event the kit list was extensive. The organisers were unable to exactly quantify the number of attendees in advance, and for this reason Blitz Sound selected a PM1D digital audio mixing system - because it is capable of dealing with the most complex demands likely to arise. The front of house line up included 30 Q1 line array loudspeakers together with a mix of 20 A1 and D12 amplifiers; a further 42 loudspeakers and in excess of 50 mics were supplied including ten radio mics. The Blitz crew comprised teams of two for each of the five shows plus a further four staff for the fit up and get out.
Paul Hutton commented: "This event required superior technical staging skills to ensure it ran flawlessly despite the enormous and disparate audience and the commitment and professionalism of the Blitz crew should be applauded for such a physically punishing marathon event."
