The company, whose client portfolio ranges from airlines to Formula 1 racing, specifically requested an ultra-flexible system that could handle routing of different signal sources to a number of zones, divided across multiple levels, with further system expandability should they require it.
Planning of the system and Soundweb programming was entrusted to Alex Reitterer from Kain Audio (Harman Professional's Austrian distributor), while the installation was carried out by Friendly House. A pair of SW9010 'Jellyfish' remotes and three SW9015 wall controllers provide control of the two networked Soundweb SW9088iis devices, which handle signal transmission throughout the multi-storey building.
According to Oliver Paar, who runs Friendly House, signals to the hotel's radio source (situated between floors three and five) are streamed from a server. Additional zones on the network take background MP3 feeds, such as the Onyx Bar on Level 6 and restaurant and VIP area above. The bar and gallery are served from a conventional DJ set-up while another zone is dedicated to active monitors, which are introduced via Soundweb when the restaurant transforms into a club. Finally the Winter Garden and adjacent bookable rooms occupy the 8th and 9th floors.
The installation also features around 50 JBL Professional Control Contractor loudspeakers, including quantities of Control 29AV and SB210 subs. The system is powered by a combination of 12 Crown Xs, XLS and CH amplifiers.
