USA - Chroma-Q Inspire Mini energy-efficient, full colour-mixing LED house lights have taken the place of old incandescent fixtures at Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Minnesota and are expected to save the organisation up to $6,500 per year in lighting running costs.

The Church is based in Forest Lake and offers services to the local community in its 100ft by 100ft auditorium, known as the Sanctuary.

Blige to Madonna and Burt Bacharach, Camp's diverse portfolio includes his recent efforts with the Forbidden Saints, the Mississippi Orchestra and the Newark Philharmonic. UK - PSCo has launched the PSCo Training Academy, a new series of training courses designed to empower its customers to know more, and arm attendees with the skills to take advantage of the latest technologies. The first course completed in June was the Absen Certified Engineer (ACE) accreditation for rental partners.

As the only Absen authorised training house in the UK, PSCo trained 32 live events customers over a two-day period on product features, application scenarios, control systems, maintenance and troubleshooting. On completion of the training course, attendees took a test to be awarded Absen Certified Engineer status.

UK - Glastonbury once again proved a major hit for Robe moving lights - over 600 of which were deployed on a multiplicity of stages site-wide, including Arcadia's giant spider spectacular show and legendary underground dance destination, Block 9.

Lighting equipment for both these areas was delivered by Colour Sound Experiment, who joined several different rental companies involved in supplying Robe products, including the South West Group, which lit the trendy Park Stage and BBC Introducing showcasing lots of rising talent, and DPL who took care of lighting at the West Holts stage.

USA - Having already created hit songs for Jake Owen, Rascal Flatts, and the Eli Young Band, Eric Paslay has become an artist in his own right, having embarked on his first headlining tour Make Every Night a Friday Night. With performances scheduled throughout the United States, tour manager Steve Bryan and lighting designer Mike Marcario wanted to give fans of the soulful Texan a special concert experience. UK - West Midlands-based Central Presentations Ltd (CPL) returned to Glastonbury as part of the Arcadia Spectacular, for which the company provided Panasonic projection onto the legs of the giant spider.

The massive construction lurked ominously on what is now a designated area of the site set aside for the Arcadia team's immersive show. This year the new Arcadia 'Metamorphosis' show - complete with awesome technical production, radical aerial stunts and the very best dance beats - was one of the most talked-about and enjoyed events of the Festival.

After working with Arcadia last year, MD Matthew Boyce commented, "We were delighted to be back at Glasto this year and working with Arcadia's hugely ambitious new show and their wonderful team of people - all of whom ensured that the 'spectacular' concept thrilled and entertained record breaking crowds each night."

Lebanon - Funktion-One's distributor in Lebanon, Audiotec Group, has installed sound systems at two new rooftop venues in Beirut. Caprice and Iris, which are both owned and operated by Addmind, are restaurant-bars that like to take things up a notch or two in the evenings.

Audiotec Group's managing partner, Ralph Choueiri, explains how the company got involved in the projects: "When Addmind contacted us to say they wanted to put Funktion-One systems into Caprice and Iris, we were very happy - these are two of the most exciting venues in Beirut. Singapore - About 40,000 people came together on 5 June 2015 in Singapore's National Stadium for a spectacular Opening Ceremony for an extraordinary SEA Games. Organised by the Singapore Southeast Asian Games Organising Committee (SINGSOC), the SEA Games centred around the Singapore Sports Hub, with its principal facility, The National Stadium, equipped throughout with Nexo sound reinforcement including the STM Series modular line array.

USA - Matanuska-Susitna College (MSC) has installed Alaska's first Meyer Sound Constellation acoustic system in its new Glenn Massay Theatre, a 523-seat facility purpose-built for Constellation. With the goal of accommodating a broad range of educational activities and arts performances in a single venue, the venue uses the system to provide ideal acoustics for all its events, including orchestral and choral concerts, student assemblies, lectures, fine arts performances, and amplified rock music.

"We're blown away by how great the room sounds," says theatre director Matt Sale. "It's hard to tell what is the room's own acoustical response and what is due to Constellation. If you walk in not knowing Constellation is on, you wouldn't think there was any enhancement. But when you turn it off, it's like when you have to pop your ears when going up in elevation."

USA - Colby College is a long way from Hollywood (3,165.4 miles to be exact), but that didn't keep film legend Robert Redford from journeying to the historic Maine school to address its 483 graduates and other guests at the 2015 commencement ceremony held outdoors on its picturesque campus. As befits a New England college graduation ceremony, the sun was shining very brightly that day. UK - White Light has started in its role as the production service partner at Central Hall Westminster, the largest conference venue in Central London. Situated opposite Westminster Abbey and adjacent to the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, the venue features Europe's largest domed roof along with several other unique and flexible event spaces.

UK - Microphone brand JTS Professional is to be represented in the UK and Ireland by FBT Audio UK, following the signing of an exclusive distribution agreement between the two companies, effective as of 1 July t 2015.

Switzerland - At the upcoming Montreux Jazz Festival (MJF), Leopard linear sound reinforcement systems will be heading a line-up of almost 400 Meyer Sound loudspeakers providing audio throughout MJF venues. 2015 will mark Meyer Sound's 29th year as an official sponsor of the festival. This year's headliners will include Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett, and other festival veterans like Santana and Herbie Hancock.

UK - Armed with an artic full of gear, Aurora Lighting Hire entered into the festival spirit to support lighting director Oli Richards and gaffer Sam Madden as chosen BBC broadcast partners during Glastonbury 2015.

With set-ups across the Worthy Farm site, the Aurora team took control of the studio and link interviews and, along with some welcome support from Barry Dennison at ELP, worked throughout the weekend to help keep things looking good during the BBC's extensive coverage.

USA - Continuing their work with some of the world's highest profile EDM artists, XL Video worked with DJ/Producer Bassnectar to light up Colorado's legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater with an abundance of LED, as well as supply control systems and crew for two shows in late May.

This is the fifth year Bassnectar has played at the renowned outdoor venue and production manager, Marc Immerman, contacted XL Video to ensure the video for the show would match the spectacular surroundings.

XL Video's touring projects director, Gareth Jeanne worked with Bassnectar's team to specify over 300 tiles of XL's ROE Visual MC-7 high resolution LED for the multi-surface stage design.

Mimicking the shrinking perspective of the venue, LED columns were arranged each 2 tiles wide, and 9, 8, 7 and 6 tiles high on each side of the stage.

UK - The University of Derby's College of Engineering has partnered with Cloudbass Limited to launch a new undergraduate degree in Broadcast Engineering and Live Event Technology.

The University of Derby is the first UK University to partner with Cloudbass Limited.

Based in the East Midlands, outside broadcast specialist Cloudbass Limited provided filming facilities and crew for the 2012 London Olympics. Previous and current clients include the BBC, BBC Sport, Eurosport and Sky Sports.

The BSc (Hons) Broadcast Engineering and Live Event Technology will start in September 2016. The three year course will prepare aspiring engineers for a career in broadcast engineering and live event technology by teaching them broadcast and engineering techniques, and developing their knowledge of sound technology, analogue and digital electronics.

UK - Sennheiser's Sound Academy is heading to White Light in Wimbledon, South West London on 15 July for its latest Wireless Mics and Monitoring Essentials courses.

The course, run by Sennheiser's Andrew Lillywhite and Tim Sherratt, is aimed at both new and existing users of wireless microphones and in-ear monitor systems, including sound engineers, designer and live event professionals, students, apprentices, sales people and AV technicians who want to further their understanding of the area.

The course will provide the skills and confidence to operate multichannel wireless systems, covering acoustics and electrotechnology, wireless mics and monitoring, antenna technology, microphone technology, frequency management and wireless monitoring.

UK - HK Audio is the new sound system of choice for the Baltic centre for contemporary art in Gateshead.

Baltic, which is the biggest gallery of its kind in the world, has no permanent collection, providing instead an ever-changing calendar of exhibitions and events that give an insight into contemporary artistic practice.

Baltic's River Terrace is a function room featuring an outdoor balcony that stretches out along the banks of the River Tyne and, to bring the venue's sound system up to 21st century standards, Newcastle's Rock Warehouse were called in.

Rock Warehouse promptly installed six of HK Audio's IL 8.1 loudspeakers, custom painted to discretely blend with the industrial décor of the venue. UK - Stage Electrics has been working with creative communications agency drp since 1998, so when the company was asked if it would support drp's 35th anniversary, it was more than happy to oblige.

drp boasts one of Europe's largest production facilities, housing eight fully equipped edit and studio suits, two film and photography studios, digital innovation studio, event catering and much, much more, so its 35th celebration was sure to be spectacular.

As well as an afternoon event at West Midlands Safari & Leisure Park for over 900 invited guests, drp threw an evening dinner for its team members, with 220 people enjoying a gala event in the park's tree top area.
