UK - Cadac Electronics plc has appointed Sebastian Song to distribute its full range of audio mixing systems in Singapore and Malaysia. The choice was made on the basis of Song's extensive audio experience, combined with an innovative distribution approach. This emphasises a hands-on focus on product education and training, providing an innovative balance that offers clear advantages throughout this region in the development of effective applications for Cadac's high quality product range.

Commenting on his appointment, Sebastian Song explained: "With Cadac's 19" Digital Series rack devices, such as the D16, M16, F16 and X16, there is tremendous scope to broaden Cadac's appeal beyond the traditional live performance sector. We believe that recording studios and applications requiring comprehensive signal distribution can also benefit from Cadac's exceptional audio quality and system reliability, with real advantages for applications involving a hybrid of digital and analogue equipment. This is where we will be focusing our initial efforts, and we are confident we can also prove the value of the Cadac range in new markets. I am thoroughly delighted to represent such a well-respected marque, and have planned a dynamic schedule of seminars and workshops to demonstrate the superior performance characteristics the Cadac range offers."

Craig Lovell of Cadac recently joined Song's Singapore-based team to launch the representation with a two-day product seminar. A major highlight was the demonstration of the M16 Remote Controlled Microphone Amplifier and the D16 Digital Mix Matrix, in conjunction with d&b audiotechnik loudspeaker systems. During the seminar, the delegates requested an A/B test between the Cadac M16 microphone preamps, with the D16 acting as the output mixer, against another industry standard high quality analogue two channel mic/line preamp.

Craig Lovell says:"The two channel unit is the preamp reference from a reputable high quality mixing console manufacturer, consequently our delegates wanted to use this as a benchmark to gauge the M16's audio quality. All were amazed at the difference, which was really quite significant. The M16/D16 combination reproduced a full mix of the source with clean, extended low and high frequencies that were missing from the other preamp. This was an unexpected result for many attendees, but one that underlined the quality of the Cadac M16 in a very dramatic way. It also illustrates the value of our education and training approach - if you give people the chance to hear what Cadac is capable of, they gain a very real perception of how their own work can benefit from using our equipment."

Cadac's 19" Digital Series range comprises the M16 Remote Controlled Microphone Amplifier, the X16 MADI Merge Unit, the D16 Digital Mix Matrix and the F16 DC Master Interface Unit. The combination of the hallmark Cadac audio quality and enhanced operational flexibility is proving popular in all live sound markets, underlining Cadac's continuing commitment both to superior audio and innovation, says the company.
