UK - Cadac Electronics is showing the S-Digital audio mixing console for the first time in the Asia Pacific region, at PALM Expo China, 29 May - 1 June 2008 in Beijing. Cadac is exhibiting in conjunction with local distributor, Eastern Acoustic Development Ltd (EAD).

Designed specifically for theatre and live sound applications, Cadac's S-Digital represents a radical departure from other live sound console designs, by combining the familiar surface architecture, character and functionality of the industry benchmark Cadac J-Type, with the operational and creative benefits of digital audio control.

Cadac's managing director, Bob Thomas, explains the concept behind the S-Digital:"We are delighted to bring our S-Digital console to the Asia Pacific region for the first time, after working with the world's best sound designers and operators to create a new breed of digital console for the live sound market.

"The S-Digital is based on the qualities and capability of our analogue J-Type console, using its familiar and proven architecture to ensure that the S-Digital still sounds, looks and behaves like an analogue desk. Behind this, however, we have made some major breakthroughs that dynamically advance digital console design. The S-Digital's bussing system, processing and infrastructure sets new standards for performance - our proprietary high-speed communications system overcomes traditional latency and delay problems, while the infrastructure and system architecture is based on providing a future-proof and completely reconfigurable console that can be scaled up or down as required."
