Cargo also wanted to add more power to the existing set-up in the main room. To fulfil these requirements Marquee recommended QSC PowerLight PL4.0 (2 x 1400W) amplifiers to power the bass, which now consists of a pair of Turbosound TQ-425 (2 x 15"), with a QSC PowerLight PLX 3002 and PLX 2402 amplifiers driving the rear TQ series loudspeakers in the main room. Smith says: "Turbosound has a distinctive sound, and as a company are also very knowledgeable and helpful - nothing is a problem with them."
In deference to its ongoing live music commitment, Cargo decided to increase their FOH mixing capabilities by purchasing a 32-channel Soundcraft multi-mode MH3 console, along with industry standard outboard equipment in the shape of a Drawmer DL251 spectral compressor and DS501 noise gate. The venue also added two further stage monitor mixes, enabling six musicians to hear their own tailored monitor mix.
Away from the audio domain, a Sanyo LCD (3000 lumens) XGA projector, with a Kramer video/audio source matrix switcher, and four stylish Coemar iSpot 150 moving yoke lights, with seven colours and six rotatable gobos, adjustable strobe and motorized focusing, have also been supplied by Marquee Audio.
