"I utilised all 64 input faders and all 35 mix busses simultaneously, and, out of the box, I would be hard pressed to find another digital console in this class capable of providing such flexibility," said P.A. Plus systems engineer Mark Radu. "The Vi6 was easy to navigate, simple to programme, and the routing was quick and intuitive. The full complement of available dynamics on every input and output are both functional and accurate while the eight independent Lexicon effects engines are everything one would expect from a standalone Lexicon in terms of both control and performance."
The monitor system for the 2007 CCMA show consisted of 16 stereo in-ear-monitor mixes. After soundchecks and rehearsals of the live performances, the show's producers and director relayed many positive comments from the talent back to the P.A. Plus crew concerning the sonic quality of the IEM mixes. "That's a compliment I attribute to the superb sounding microphone preamps and smooth, accurate EQ section," noted Radu.
Hosted by Paul Brandt, this year's lineup of CCMA performers included Doc Walker, Jim Cuddy, Brad Johner, Carolyn Dawn Johnson with Jimmy Rankin, Emerson Drive, George Canyon, Shane Yellowbird, Aaron Pritchett, Jessie Farrell, and a 'super-group' of Canada's top musicians headed up by Tom McKillip.
