ACK Productions opened for business in 1991 and is a specialist hire company, installer, systems integrator and reseller, offering a wide range of theatrical equipment and services tailored to suit the needs of schools, theatres, venues and live events.
Owner, Alastair Kerr first encountered the Color One 100s at PLASA London 2014, and invested in a quantity of the units soon after.
"Lighting designers have historically not been interested in our LED Pars, but this has now changed as the technology has advanced," says Alastair. "I was immediately impressed with not only the intensity of the Color One 100s, but also the dimming curve, which was much more suited to the operas and musicals I was lighting, and other applications at this more technically discerning end of the market.
"We've already hired out the stock to West Side Story in the Grand Opera House, Belfast, and a gala dinner event at the Titanic Belfast building. In addition, they've been used on a Music From Northern Ireland TV show for BBC Northern Ireland and PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) in the USA."
Alastair's investment in the fixtures was part of a long-running relationship between Chroma-Q UK dealer, A.C. Entertainment Technologies (AC-ET), and ACK Productions.
"I've been purchasing from AC-ET for more than 30 years now, and I find their staff very helpful," says Alastair. "The A.C. guys went out of their way to get the fixtures shipped the same day I ordered them, so that we had them for a Monday rig. I would definitely invest in more - the Color Ones are a good product at a good price."
