Edirol's popular V-440HD multi-format video mixer, and the alternative V-44SW which packages those facilities into a compact, installation-friendly, 2U rack-mount format, can mix all available video signals, including HD video (1080i or 720p), SD Video (NTSC or PAL) and RGB signal (upto SXGA). According to PROmotivation's Martyn Skirrow, "these units are very straightforward, very tactile and very easy to understand, which is a bonus when it comes to handing over the installations to the people who will actually use them. As all-in-one multiformat mixers, scalers and seamless switchers, the Edirol models represent very good value for money in terms of performance and features, and of course reliability."
PROmotivations now specifies the Edirol video mixers and switchers for the majority of its large projects. Most recent customers include the Life Church in Bedworth and the Brazilian ministry Assemblies of God of London, where the main sanctuary systems are routed through the Edirol mixers. Both the V-440HD and V-44SW offer a Chroma Key effects facility, a valuable resource for churches, allowing them to overlay the words to hymns on top of a live video background. "This is one of the best units on the market with this important feature," says Martyn Skirrow.
At the Willesden Church's recently refurbished permanent location, two years of planning, meetings, and coordination with architects and contractors have culminated in an extensive audio-visual infrastructure, featuring main-screen image projection, live video relay on plasma and LCD screens, and full film recording capability.
The installation comprises a Panasonic PT-DW5100 projector onto a 3m custom screen mounted at the back of the stage, with an additional 2m custom screen installed on the upper balcony level. To cover the numerous blind spots under the balcony, there are four 50" Sony plasma screens and a further two above the balcony area. Additional LCD screens provide stage visual foldback, and there are extra Sony plasma screens in the parent/baby room and in the reception area, with independent feed to display welcome messages, notices, media clips and live video feed.
