The IDR-8 provides EQ and routing to the main Proel TFL speaker system - which consists of six Proel TFL10P and two Proel TFL115 subs - and a 100v line system of 22 ceiling speakers in other zones, rest rooms and the outdoor area. An additional PL-4 wall plate behind the bar, allows bar staff to fine tune volume of the main bar system. Jansen will be installing similar systems in two existing bars and three future projects in the chain.
Meanwhile, on Waiheke Island in the Hauraki gulf of Auckland, an iDR-4 digital mixer and two PL-4 remote controllers have been installed in the Rocks Bar & Grill. The system is multi-zoned with multiple sources, including a computer music system for karaoke and talent quests.
The outdoor system is a 100v line system, while four Proel TFL12'' speakers amplified by lab Gruppen in the main bar, and two Proel PRL 250V power amps in the wine bar, form the indoor sound system, which is mounted above the bar give a high level of audio while maintaining a quiet zone for staff at the bar to reduce drinks wastage. Two PL-4 wall plates, one in the main bar and one in the wine bar, allow remote control of the audio sources and volume.
"We are finding an increasing number of smaller bars require a high level of flexibility and sophistication in their audio installations," comments Jansen Professional Audio & Lighting's director, Simon Adams. "Allen & Heath's versatile iDR system provides the perfect, affordable solution, which can interface with other equipment - such as lighting and AV devices - and provide remote control capability for busy staff."
