The new offerings range from optimised versions of existing products, to the official PLASA showing of IntelliWhite and the company's first multi-output power/data supply.
The ColorBlast 12 Powercore offers the essential attributes of the popular ColorBlast 12 in a complete line voltage system, using Powercore technology, which integrates power and data management directly within the fixture. This eliminates the need for external power supplies, as well as dramatically reducing installation cost and complexity. The company says that unlike other LED-based systems of its kind, ColorBlast 12 Powercore accepts a universal power input range from 100 to 240VAC, which facilitates the installation of many units in a continuous run, or spaced apart where needed. It receives data via Color Kinetics' Data Enabler, a data formatting device that accepts DMX or Ethernet protocol.
ColorBlaze is the latest Color Kinetics system to capitalise on enhancements in LED performance and cost competitiveness. Available in 1.2-meter (48") and 1.8-meter (72") lengths, ColorBlaze is Color Kinetics' highest-intensity RGB system, and now boasts even greater output than prior models. It is controllable in 15.2-cm (6") increments and features on-board power in an extruded aluminum housing to streamline design and installation.
iColor® Flex SLX is a larger-node and higher-intensity version of Color Kinetics' popular iColor Flex SL, a multi-purpose, LED-based strand that generates extraordinary effects and accommodates expansive installations without the constraints of fixture size, shape or space. Applying Color Kinetics' Chromasic® technology, each strand of iColor Flex SLX comprises 50 individually controllable LED nodes that are three times brighter and therefore better suited for longer distance viewing in millwork, signage, and façade lighting.
sPDS-480ca 7.5V is Color Kinetics' first multi-output power/data supply, which streamlines installation by supporting higher quantities of fixtures. It allows users to monitor activity, trouble shoot and configure light fixtures with a simple keypad on the front panel.
Light System Manager 1.8 is the latest release of Color Kinetics' integrated software/hardware solution for the management, authoring and control of lighting effects via Ethernet. It combines an intuitive graphical user interface with a powerful hardware engine that simplifies the storage and triggering of light show effects across elaborate, multi-unit installations.
In another unveiling, the IntelliWhite series makes its official PLASA debut. The product series combines Color Kinetics' digital control experience with advanced white LEDs to not only replace conventional light sources in specialised applications, but to enable, the company says, "completely new uses of high-quality white light". IntelliWhite systems now feature enhanced optics for greater output, colour mixing, and beam patterns.
