USA - Crown International today announced the launch of the Commercial Audio Series with the introduction of the 180MA and 280MA mixer-amplifiers. Larry Baker, Director of Marketing for Installed Sound at Crown commented on the introduction: "We're excited about the opportunity to introduce to the commercial audio market a line of products built upon Crown's legendary commitment to excellence. We took our time and listened to what customers in this market said they needed, and we believe the Crown Commercial Audio Series reflects the fact that we paid attention."

The Crown 180MA and 280MA are high-value mixer-amplifiers for commercial and industrial audio. They provide 4-ohm and constant-voltage outputs (70V and 100V). The line is targeted toward applications including schools, hospitals, factories, restaurant/retail, houses of worship, fitness facilities, A/V boardrooms, prisons, and small offices. Typical uses are paging, background music, security and evacuation instructions.

The mixer-amplifiers vary in their number of inputs and outputs: 180MA has four inputs and one 80W power amplifier for single-zone systems; 280MA has eight inputs and dual 80W power amplifiers for two-zone systems. Input routing allows each input to be assigned to any output, often greatly reducing the need for additional mixers or amplifiers (or both) when systems require either more inputs or outputs. Other features include priority muting, phantom power, four-tone generator, and capability for remote volume control.
