Wethele Manor, at Weston-Under-Wetherly near Leamington, is an attractive old farmhouse dating back to the 16th century. Restored to a very high standard it now offers luxury accommodation and is set on a 250-acre estate overlooking the rolling Warwickshire countryside. The old stable block, which retains many features including the original roof timbers, has been converted to provide a unique L-shaped function room facility.
Having heard the systems installed by PSL at the Sweeny's and KoKo's venues in Leamington, the owners of Wethele Manor contacted Peter Smith of PSL to design and supply their system. Inside the function room, PSL used six Community VERIS 8 full-range loudspeakers, supplemented by two VERIS 210 subs to provide a powerful entertainment system. The VERIS 8s and 210s were all supplied in white to compliment the clean styling of the venue, with minimal distraction from the building's original timber features.
Outside they used four Community I/O5 all-weather loudspeakers. A Cloud Electronics RSL6 allows for input from two DJ input points, as well as separate control of the indoor and outdoor systems. The front end is CD and media player and, for speeches and presentations, PSL also supplied a radio mic system.
Peter Smith comments: "The system design was fairly straightforward, using products we have used extensively for quality and reliability, but an added consideration at Wethele Manor was the shape of the room and its many reflective surfaces. This made an even stronger case for choosing VERIS, which have extremely well controlled dispersion. The room is also used for presentations and conferences and the Community range is exceptional for vocal clarity and intelligibility."
