The space was previously a discotheque, but has been fully refurbished for the Vermont nightclub. To set new standards for the venue, the owners appointed Burgas-based ProAudio to design and install Community sound and DTS lighting systems.
"The main area of Vermont is about 500sq.m," explained Stanislav Petrov of ProAudio: "and we were asked to create a high energy focus on the main dance floor. For this substantial area, and the quality and levels we needed to create, we turned to Community's iBOX system which we knew would deliver on both counts."
The central dance floor is covered by four high power two-way 15" Community iHP1564 loudspeakers, each cabinet capable of handling 1500W program and delivering 135dB peak SPL. These are supplemented by four dual 18" iLF218 subwoofers. Power is provided by KIND KDL3000 amplifiers and DSP is handled by a Qube SP 26 D.
"The 60 x 40 degree coverage of the iHP1564 enabled us concentrate the levels on the dance floor," said Petrov. "We also used two 60 x 90 iHP1596 loudspeakers on an 8m delay for wider coverage of the area adjacent to the main floor, providing consistent and coherent coverage but at a lower level."
Petrov conclude:, "With the quality, levels and coverage of the main iBOX system, very little additional fill was needed. The management of Vermont is pleased with the system and the club is frequently filled to capacity. For us it's very satisfying to provide such a system, and one we know will perform reliably for many years to come."
