The first venue is a driving experience called Rio City. It is actually a small village with a comprehensive road network around which electric-powered cars are driven. Rio City is a new concept in Lebanon, being entertaining but with and the serious goal of teaching youngsters how to drive responsibly while respecting the law, other road users and pedestrians. The Malouf Group has launched the project in response to the increasing number of road accidents in Lebanon, and the lack of public awareness of traffic laws.
Technosound was commissioned to design and provide a music system to cover all public areas of Rio City. In addition to all-weather durability, sound quality was important and they opted for Community R-Series. Nine distributed R.25-94Z loudspeakers provide the coverage required and these are driven by QSC RMX1450 amplifiers. A PROART PM3320 provides dual zoning and a TEAC dock provides for MP3 input.
Adjacent to Rio City is a venue which is purely leisure and takes maximum advantage of the hot Lebanese climate. The Rio Lento Waterpark features a 1,200sq.m wave pool, a Kamikaze slide, a party island, a lazy river and a kiddie pool. It also features paintball, bungee jumping, wall climbing and tennis and basketball courts for those wanting dry land activities.
Technosound again chose Community R-Series. Eight R.25-94TZ are pole-mounted in a central cluster, high above the park and with clear sight-lines to all areas. An ART MX622F provides control and mic input facilities and QSC ISA300TI amplifiers power the system.
Pierre Fahed of Technosound comments, "We can always rely on R-Series for outdoor applications in the Lebanese climate. They combine great sound quality and high intelligibility with excellent throw and well-defined coverage, in a robust, compact package. The results achieved at Rio City and Rio Lento Waterpark are both good examples of what these excellent loudspeakers can provide."
