A new dimmer, the Compupack from Compulite on the stand of UK distributor Stagetec, is an affordable, rack-mount, 12-channel, 10A unit with its own onboard mains breaker. It has LED indicator output level, two DMX inputs plus Ethernet, RS232 for screen link and a large LCD display for patch, status etc.

Compulite's Vector Editor Wing is a control surface than can link to desk or PC through the off-line software; every part of Vector is accessible in the Wing, editor, playback fader, channel controller. Also new, the Channel Wing, especially useful in the TV market, provides access to channels and cues, and incorporates a large dimmer wheel with associated level display. Any number of these can be connected to a Vector console or the Vector PC and used as channel controllers. The wings can be set to work as a completely separate user, without interfering with the main console operation, say the company.

Latest features included in the Vector platform (previewed in software release 3.13) include two-way communication with Catalyst media servers, which allows thumbnails of the Catalyst media to appear on the Vector's picker screens.
