In conjunction with D.A.S.’s Swiss distributor Animatec, a large selection of powered sound reinforcement products were supplied, including the new Compact 2 System which debuted at the 2002 ProLight+Sound exhibition in Frankfurt. The Compact 2 Systems were used by Swiss radio ‘Colour 3’ which hosted DJs performing live and converting the area adjacent to the Miles Davis Hall into a virtual dance club.
The Montreux Jazz ‘Off’, at the Parque de la Rouvenaz outdoor stage, featured four ST-1800 Sound Touring series systems for FOH and six Pf-015s handled floor monitoring. Outside the Montreux Convention Center, Dynamics series DS-15s were used for background music. At the famous ‘Workshops’ held at the Petit Palais, festival-goers had the chance to be tutored by the likes of Kenny Garret, B.B. King and sax player David Sanborn. The powered Compact 1 systems provided sound reinforcement for this venue along with ST-8As, powered Sub 118A subs, and Pf-012 floor monitors.
A varied selection of 92 systems were used to provide coverage over the festival areas. D.A.S. confirms its international presence with products that provide quality, performance and reliability for the worlds top events.
