A DS-12 placed at one of the bleachers.
Spain / Belgium - D.A.S. sound reinforcement systems were in use recently at the Davis Cup eliminatory tournament between Spain and Belgium. Held at the ‘Olympic Tennis’ sports complex in Seville, the event drew a crowd of over 5,000 tennis fans.

Seville-based Klarson, run by Sergio Clarasó Estebe was in charge of installing the sound systems at the event. D.A.S. DS-12 12" two-way systems were used to provide coverage in the three large bleachers and lobby areas. Installed in the press conference rooms were the ultra-compact DS-8 full-range systems that use an 8" low frequency transducer with a 1.5" voice coil.Klarson specializes in the rental of sound, lighting and audio-video equipment for all types of live events, including sports events. Segio Clarasó, proprietor of the company comments regarding the sound of D.A.S. products: "I depend on the boxes a lot because they are loud and clean." As far their user-friendliness is concerned: "We use the DS series cabinets frequently because they are light and can be flown quite easily, which makes life a little better for us!"

The polypropylene cabinet construction of the DS series provides weather resistance especially interesting when used in outdoor events. According to Clarasó: "A few minutes before the main event between Spain’s Ferrero and the Belgium Rochus, things looked bad. It was very cold and the sky looked like rain. I was more worried about the crowd than I was about the DS systems because I know they hold-up well even in a The Davis Cup eliminatory packed a full crowd throughout the games and was covered worldwide by the international media.
