Ireland - MOSCO Sound Design, d&b audiotechnik's representative in Ireland, showed the versatile additions to d&b's established E-Series range of loudspeaker systems at Even.Tech 2008. These were complimented on the stand by the new d&b D6 amplifier as well as the R70 Ethernet to CAN interface.

Thre E8, E12 and E12-D all combine polyurethane hard foam cabinets with coaxial LF/HF drivers at their heart. Designed for use as standalone full-range loudspeakers, any of these models can be integrated into d&b's larger systems without compromise to performance, says the company. All three models have horns that rotate through 90º, with patterns of 90º x 50º, 80º x 50ºand 110º x 50º (h x v) as well as high power ratings of 129 dB, 134 dBm and 133 dB SPL respectively. With the addition of the E15X subwoofer the bandwidth can be extended down to 40 Hz.

In the same vein, the D6 amplifier combines physical lightness with genuine audio power, to provide versatility. Two channels of 600 W into 4 ohms (up to 16 ohms maximum), this class D amplifier weighs just 8 kg.

The R70 Ethernet to CAN interface not only enables the integration of d&b systems into existing Ethernet networks but enables wireless control from just one laptop. MOSCO's Kevin McGing commented, "The efficiency and benefits of the existing d&b Remote control network is well known to system users worldwide; the addition of long distance remote control of d&b amplifiers via Ethernet makes the final link in the chain."

Finally, as joint education sponsors, d&b's Steve Jones delivered two seminars within the concise education programme that ran in parallel to the exhibition and MOSCO provided the technical support. Jones commented "We specifically tailored both of our seminars to this show; Demystifying Audio Techniques was the perfect introduction to our forthcoming seminar sessions in Ireland whilst Subwoofers within Cardioid and Distributed arrays was essential listening for those who wanted quality intelligence on correct system deployment.
