UK - Dateq, distributed by Sonic8, has launched the MAC5, a 3U rack-mounting powered mixer providing 2 x 500W. Of the unit's seven channels, the first three are microphone inputs mounted on the front-panel with combined XLR and 1/4" jack sockets, all with 2-band EQ and a 'talk over' function on channel 1; while the remaining four are line level with inputs on the rear. The MAC5 offers two 'zone' outputs - one powered, the other at line level - which both have individually controllable level and 2-band EQ. An effects send and headphone monitoring output are also featured.

Other features include the MAC5's built-in SPL limiter, drawing on Dateq's market-leading environmental limiting technology, with an adjustable ceiling; and a separate subwoofer output. The built-in Class D amplification produces up to 500W RMS into 4 ohms with outputs on Neutrik Speakon connectors.
