World - In support of his newest CD, "A New Day at Midnight," David Gray continues to tour with High End Systems equipment adding Colors - Studio Colors, that is - to his tunes. Lighting contractors are Upstaging for the North American dates and Neg Earth for UK/Europe. LD Cormac Jackson has specified 26 Studio Color 575s - along with other automated lighting - and a Wholehog II console, saying that those two products are his favorites among gear.

Says LD Cormac Jackson: "Studio Colors are the only wash light I'll use. Studio Beams excluded! They work for David Gray and - more importantly - they work all the time. The fact that I can get Studio Colors in nearly all parts of the world is a real bonus. Lighting companies have them in stock and I don't have to re-specify shows. The light out of Studio Color is what I really want. It's not too harsh but it's bright, which is what the current tour required."

As for his choice of console, he says: "I won't do a show without a Hog II if I can help it. And the fact that I can program at home with HogEdit has saved me so much time and effort with many recent shows."

Joining Gray on the crew are lighting crew chief Ken 'Junior' Burns, lighting techs Travis Robinson, Jorge 'Soline' Velasquez and Eric 'Sluggo' Eaton, rigger Brian Collins and drape tech Tyler Elich. The tour kicked off in November/December in the UK/Ireland. Gray resumes in January-February in the US. Meet him on the other side - Europe - in March.
